A standing man in an orange-saffron dhoti-style garment and a pink-and-white flower garland stands at the trunk, bare-chested, with long hair swept back. A white-draped table in front holds brass thalis and bowls with flowers, kumkum and offerings, plus a plate of yellow marigold petals.2008-12-31Outdoor photo beneath a huge banyan tree with thick aerial roots wrapping its trunk. A standing devotee in a flowing orange saffron wrap, with long dark hair and a green leaf garland over the shoulder, faces the trunk while holding a lit oil lamp or offering. Yellow and orange marigold garlands hang on the roots. In the foreground at right, a white cloth covers a seated or offered object beside an orange cushion, a small brass vessel and a stone base, with white kolam designs on the ground. Another orange-clad figure stands at the far right edge. The scene shows an outdoor puja at a sacred tree.2007-12-22December 31 20082008-12-31December 31 20092009-12-31December 22 20182018-12-22 +1 copiesFebruary 26 20132013-02-26 +1 copiesOctober 06 20062006-10-06January 04 20152015-01-04A photograph of a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots, wrapped at its base with a garland of yellow marigolds and purple-red flowers. Beneath the trunk a dark hollow opening holds small offerings, and a white-edged platform with a tap sits in front. A single standing person in a flowing saffron-orange robe, long dark hair falling past the shoulders, barefoot, stands at the right edge with a hand on the trunk, facing the tree. Sandy ground and foliage fill the background. Presentation cues are a swept-back long hairstyle and saffron robe, but the face is not clearly legible, so the identity is uncertain.2010-02-12March 03 20132013-03-03December 26 20062006-12-26
