The framed portrait labelled "Paramahamsa Nithyananda" shows a smiling man in an orange turban and saffron robe, and a large banner behind shows a similar smiling figure. A figure in white sits at the platform's right side tending items, while two people in orange and red robes kneel at the left. Seated devotees in white clothes with their backs to the camera fill the foreground, and a small offering tray sits in front of the platform.2013-12-10Photo of a ritual aarti at a golden throne set up for a portrait of a person. In the foreground a shaven-headed man in a maroon robe swings a multi-tiered silver lamp with many lit wicks. Beside the throne a woman in white sari sits on the floor with folded hands. Behind the throne stands a framed portrait of a smiling man with orange-saffron clothing and a dark hair bun, labelled Nithyananda. Two golden lion figures flank the throne, a tiger skin lies on the seat, and a red banner reads Inner Awakening Haridwar above the scene. A glowing chandelier hangs overhead. Two physical people are visible.2014-01-04July 20 20062006-07-20March 20 20142014-03-20A woman in a white sari with a rudraksha mala sits barefoot on a blue-covered stage, holding a lit oil lamp aloft toward a framed portrait on an orange-draped chair. A shaved-headed man in a maroon and gold-bordered robe stands beside her with a brass lamp stand, and a small child is visible at the right edge. A framed portrait of a figure in orange robes with a rudraksha mala and crown-like headwear is on an orange-draped chair. Silver trays with offerings sit on a patterned table, consistent with an aarti or puja setting.2014-04-30A standing priest in an orange and gold dhoti-style wrap, bald and bare-armed with rudraksha-like beaded bracelets, raises a lit multi-flame oil lamp toward a golden throne-like seat. Centered on the seat is a framed portrait of a smiling man with a saffron/orange turban, orange robes and a red-brown tilak, labelled with a printed caption. A kneeling person in white clothing with a white shawl sits at lower right with hands joined in prayer, beside a metal bowl and a small brass plate of offerings. Flanking the seat are flower arrangements of orange, yellow and purple blooms, a silver trident (trishul) and green foliage, all against a backdrop of a large banyan-style tree over a golden temple-carved landscape. This appears to be an aarti ritual before a portrait on a peetha/throne; the portrait is a printed image, not a physical person.2014-12-26A photograph of a ceremonial stage set up for a padukapuja-style worship, with a red brick-patterned altar framed by golden lion sculptures and a tiger motif on the platform. Two large portraits of a smiling man with long hair and an orange turban hang in the background and above the altar; the portrait on the altar is framed in gold, and a banner behind shows a temple scene. Two golden parasol-style umbrellas flank the stage. A saffron-robed priest with a shaved head holds a tall, lit multi-tiered lamp aloft with both hands. A woman in white sits at the altar presenting offerings, and on the left a man in orange clothing and a second shaved-headed participant tend oil lamps and pooja items on a mat. Trays of flowers and offerings sit on the platform. Visible people: about four.2013-12-06A stage set for a Dasara celebration with a golden throne draped in yellow and magenta marigold garlands beneath a golden parasol. Behind it hangs a large banner showing a smiling man in an orange turban and saffron robes, with orange lettering. On the left, a figure in white sits on the floor near smoke rising from a vessel, while a man in orange cloth and white garments tends the rites. A woman in red sari with a red shawl and garlands stands near a smaller gold seat. Rows of small oil lamps line the orange-carpeted foreground. Other attendants in white and orange stand nearby, and a gold stand holds a trident-like staff.2010-10-17
