A white-haired older woman in a white sari with a gold border carries a brass tray of flowers. Men on the right hold red and white garlands. Banana plants with green bunches, a palm tree and a line of mango leaves frame the entrance of a pink-washed house with a water tank on its roof, where one man stands watching. Ground has a white kolam rangoli design in the lower left. Women in colourful saris stand at left. The scene looks like a house visit with a welcoming procession.2010-01-20Outdoor street scene in a village with palm trees and a yellow-domed shrine at right. A man in an orange-saffron robe with a red-and-white flower garland walks centre-frame, surrounded by men in white dhotis and shirts. One man at left points toward the group. Strings of orange and red festoon flags run overhead and a tall orange flag pole stands at right. A figure in an orange robe with long dark hair and a flower garland is present, the person presumed to be a person, though the appearance is uncertain. Several children and onlookers stand along the road.2009-08-03July 28 20082008-07-28December 29 20102010-12-29A photograph of a crowded outdoor pandal with a thatched palm-leaf roof and bamboo poles, decorated with marigold garlands and strings of colourful bunting. A red carpet runs down the centre. In the middle, a young man in a saffron-orange robe stands wearing a long white-and-orange flower garland, with a dark shawl or wrap over his shoulders and a black-beaded mala; his hair is short and he is not wearing a crown or turban. Flanking him, several men in white dhotis and white shirts, some with rudraksha-style malas, stand in two lines and gesture or stand at attention. Behind them, a large crowd of seated and standing devotees, many women in saris and older people with hands folded, watches on both sides, with children at the right edge. The setting suggests a ceremonial welcome or procession at a rural temple area with a small blue-walled building behind.2009-11-25
