A standing figure in a long red-orange robe with long hair reaches up to touch or offer to the deity's crowned head. To the left, a man in white ritual dhoti and shawl, wearing a gold necklace, holds a plate and assists with the offering. A brass oil lamp stands in the foreground near a white-draped table, with a red curtain and carved gold panel in the background.2010-12-28April 30 20122012-04-30April 30 20122012-04-30A man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, shoulder bare, stands at the left reaching up to touch the crown of a golden metal deity murti seated on a throne. The murti wears a gold and jewelled face mask, a tall crown, layered ornate necklaces, and a green and gold silk garment. The throne is framed by a gilded arch with red, white, yellow and purple flower garlands, a rust-red silk backdrop, a golden lotus-shaped support and a pink lotus flower. The man's wrist shows gold bangles and a rudraksha mala is visible at his neck. Gilt ritual objects and a silver staff are at the left edge. No visible face is sufficient for an appearance-based label, so the a person field is unsure.2012-04-30A night-time photograph of a white marble shrine holding a golden deity murti seated on a red-draped throne, decorated with a long arch of marigold garlands in orange, yellow and green. A woman in an orange sari with a red blouse bends forward to offer something at the base of the murti, beside a dark stone abhishekam vessel. Three men in orange and saffron robes stand at left, one with a shaved head, and a small figure in red and white sits on the right side of the shrine. Pink curtains frame the scene and string lights are visible at the top left.2009-02-23November 06 20112011-11-06 +1 copiesA temple puja scene where a priest in a red-orange dhoti and matching shawl, with gold bangles, raises a lit camphor flame in a brass arati lamp with one hand while ringing a handheld brass bell with the other. Behind the flame, a large deity murti with a gold crown and gold jewellery is adorned with thick garlands of red, yellow, purple and white flowers. Adjacent to it, a second statue wears a red and gold shawl and a rose-coloured garland. Fresh flower garlands drape the central golden metal sanctum object, and a gold deity figure with its hands in anjali sits on a gilded throne-like seat. The setting is a pillared stone hall with wooden lattice windows.2015-01-04Inside a temple shrine, a man in a red sleeveless top and orange cloth stands at left, reaching toward a small figure in white and orange draped on a white cloth-covered platform in front of a large decorated deity murti. The murti shows two seated figures: the left one wears an orange crown and a red-and-gold necklace, the right one a gold crown and white and gold garlands over a blue skirt and orange robe. Both are heavily garlanded with marigolds and red and yellow flower strings. Brass oil lamps stand on either side, and a gold arch frames the shrine. The scene appears to be a temple ritual of dressing or honouring a deity murti.2009-07-08A temple shrine with carved stone pillars and an arched gold-and-blue ornamental backdrop houses large deity murti figures. A bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti and orange shawl stands at left, his right hand extended toward the central altar where a gold-framed image is adorned with garlands and a jewelled necklace. Behind him, a figure in a turban and gold garments stands near the shrine, and a standing figure in red and gold holds a palm raised in greeting at the right. Brass oil lamps stand on the floor and a yellow cloth hangs at the upper right. A small deity image with flowers rests on the lower altar. Strings of small lights hang from the ceiling.2015-05-13
