A photograph of a fire ritual at dusk in a courtyard with red walls and a striped mat. A large flame rises from a homa fire pit lined with brick-like offering blocks. A bare-chested man in white dhoti with a yellow cloth and a rudraksha-style garland kneels by the fire feeding it. A seated figure on a gold ornate throne with a tall dark crown-like headdress, red and gold robes, a gold pendant and a garland of flowers sits with hands joined in prayer. Nearby, a man in white holds a folded-hands namaskar, another stands bare-chested with a garland and a patterned cloth, and a few people in white stand behind. Brass vessels, banana leaves, fruit, flowers and a small oil lamp rest on a tray beside the fire. A decorative white parasol hangs at the top left.

Night-time homa at an outdoor ritual site with a large fire pit in the foreground, flames rising from a stone fire altar decorated with red flower petals and surrounded by brass offering trays. Two priests stand behind it: the left man in orange dhoti and orange shawl with a long garland of orange flowers, hands folded in namaste; the middle shaved-headed man in orange robe with rudraksha mala, holding a brass ritual vessel. On the right, a woman in white sari with a red-and-orange head wrap pours liquid from a vessel toward the fire. Behind them a seated audience of devotees in white clothes and pink tops sits on striped mats, and an empty red-and-gold ornate throne chair stands at the left.

Night homa at an outdoor ritual site. A square yellow-painted fire pit with a bright blaze sits in the foreground. Several shaved-headed men in saffron-brown robes with red-marked foreheads and rudraksha malas sit with hands folded in namaskar along the left. On the right, a robed figure in saffron clothing wears a long red and white flower garland and sits on a raised seat with a silver backrest, with red and patterned rugs and copper vessels before him. Behind, more devotees in white and orange sit under a tent roof, with a brass kalasha-like pillar and a fan at the edge. A portion of the scene is partly obscured by a lamp.

Night ritual homa at a temple courtyard. A square yellow-rimmed fire pit burns brightly in the foreground, with a metal bowl of offerings beside it. A bald priest in an orange-red dhoti with gold border and a red shawl stands at the back, holding a paper and reciting. Seated to the right on a raised silver-backed chair with a leopard-print cushion is a person in orange-red robes with long dark hair, hands folded. Around the fire, many seated men in orange-red robes, rudraksha malas and white forehead marks sit with palms pressed together. Smoke and dark background; a few white-clad onlookers sit at the back.

A photograph of a night homa at a brick-lined square fire pit with a large flame, with several saffron-robed sannyasis seated in a row around it. Their heads are shaved, and they wear rudraksha malas and orange shawls, reading from open papers and books. On the right, a woman in red and maroon sari with garlands and red vibhuti on her forehead sits on a wooden seat holding a tray of black seeds. Behind them a seated crowd in white and saffron, a dark temple structure and a large decorated palanquin are visible. Small brass plates, offerings and oil lamps sit on red cloth around the fire.
