Photograph of a large copper kalasha-style finial or pinnacle being installed on a temple structure under a scaffold of bare wooden poles and bamboo. Two men work on the scaffold: one in a teal shirt and loincloth reaches up to steady the copper column, the other in a checked shirt and plaid lungi stands at right, gesturing with one hand. The copper pillar has tiered ornamental bands, a carved lotus-like base and gold-coloured vertical fittings. Plastic water containers sit in the foreground and a blue sky shows above. No a person is visible.2006-12-22Looking upward at a tall copper kalasha-style pillar or flagstaff rising from an ornate metal base decorated with floral and figural relief. Bamboo poles tied with rope surround and support the copper column against a clear pale blue sky. Two men stand at the base: one on the right wears a light checked shirt, a dark cloth wrapped on his head, and holds the column; another on the left in a dark shirt reaches toward the base.2006-12-22Looking up from below at a tall copper column. Two workers in shirts and cloths stand at its base, one on the left in dark clothes and a cap, the other on the right in a green checked shirt, both grasping the column and a bamboo scaffold lashed with rope. Thick bamboo poles surround the copper pillar against a clear blue sky.2006-12-22A young man in a brown t-shirt and checked lungi sits on a concrete plinth beside a large polished copper kalasha-shaped vessel with embossed floral bands. Wooden scaffolding poles and lashed timber rails frame the scene, with coconut palms and a clear blue sky behind. A small red-and-white tin sits at his feet on the concrete base, and a white pillar rises beside the scaffolding. The setting suggests construction or installation work at an outdoor site.2006-12-19September 02 20112011-09-02December 19 20062006-12-19A person in an orange-saffron robe with long, swept-back dark hair and a gold bracelet on the wrist is wrapping a thick rope around a polished copper dhvaja (flagstaff) with ornate carved bands and a decorated base. The base is adorned with white flowers, red and yellow marigold garlands and wheat-like grass sheaves. The sky is pale and overcast.2009-07-08July 28 20142014-07-28July 24 20132013-07-24April 14 20132013-04-14November 29 20132013-11-29A man in a pink headwrap, grey-green t-shirt and blue checked lungi sits crouched while grinding or polishing a golden metal sculpture of a standing deity with raised hands. Behind the sculpture, a large round-based metal piece and wooden crates sit on a concrete floor in dappled shade, with other workers partly visible at the top edge. A tall metal cut-out panel with decorative pierced edges stands at the left. The scene shows metal finishing work on temple statuary.
