Looking up from below at a tall copper column. Two workers in shirts and cloths stand at its base, one on the left in dark clothes and a cap, the other on the right in a green checked shirt, both grasping the column and a bamboo scaffold lashed with rope. Thick bamboo poles surround the copper pillar against a clear blue sky.

December 22 20062006-12-22Photograph of a large copper kalasha-style finial or pinnacle being installed on a temple structure under a scaffold of bare wooden poles and bamboo. Two men work on the scaffold: one in a teal shirt and loincloth reaches up to steady the copper column, the other in a checked shirt and plaid lungi stands at right, gesturing with one hand. The copper pillar has tiered ornamental bands, a carved lotus-like base and gold-coloured vertical fittings. Plastic water containers sit in the foreground and a blue sky shows above. No a person is visible.2006-12-22December 22 20062006-12-22December 19 20062006-12-19January 11 20162016-01-11January 01 20172017-01-01December 22 20062006-12-22January 01 20172017-01-01Upward view of a tall copper-clad pole rising against a clear blue sky beside a coconut palm. Its base is a dark carved stone or wood plinth draped with white and marigold garlands, topped with green leaves and a palm-frond tuft. Two bare-chested men in orange-red dhotis reach up toward the top of the pole, one with long dark hair tied up. A string of small lights runs along the edge of a shaded canopy at the top left, and a saffron flag is tied near the pole's tip. The scene suggests a ritual pole raising at an ashram or temple.2017-01-01April 14 20132013-04-14January 01 20172017-01-01April 10 20162016-04-10
