A man in an orange dhoti and orange shawl, with a white garland over one shoulder and gold bangles, stands on a raised platform raising his arm high with a small object. Beside him, a large deity murti seated on a throne, adorned with a golden crown, gold armlets, multicolour flower garlands in red, purple, yellow and white, and orange drapery, is decorated for worship. In the lower left, another person in red holds a brass tray of offerings wrapped in garlands. Gold-framed arch and stone pillars form the background.2011-12-11May 25 20132013-05-25 +1 copiesA photograph of a devotee in a rust-orange robe standing with bare shoulder and arm, holding flowers, facing a large statue seated on a throne. The statue wears an orange turban, gold necklaces and rudraksha-style beads, a leopard-print shawl, and a green draped cloth; it is heavily garlanded with red, orange, purple, white and yellow flower garlands. Gold-colored ornamental panels frame the throne and a corrugated roof covers the space. The devotee is a physical person; the seated figure is a statue, so no in-person candidate is present. Ritual honouring of a garlanded murti, possibly an abhishekam or puja setting.2015-01-04July 22 20132013-07-22April 23 20132013-04-23 +2 copiesA devotee in saffron-orange robes and a matching saffron turban stands at right, palms pressed together in namaskar before a large golden deity murti seated on an ornate throne. The murti is draped in yellow and white flower garlands with red and white accents, and wears a crown and gold ornaments. Behind the figure are gold ceremonial umbrellas, a golden kalasha-like finial and a green leafy backdrop. Pink fabric covers the altar base, and small gold figures flank the throne. The devotee wears a red-and-gold ornamented necklace and bangles. The scene suggests darshan and puja in a temple-like hall.2015-07-06A temple sanctum scene during worship at a Shiva lingam decorated with marigold and rose garlands. A man with long dreadlocks, a rust-red turban, a rose garland over his shoulder and gold bangles stands at center, placing his hand on the golden lingam. Two younger men in orange-saffron cloth stand behind him, one with long hair. Behind the lingam is a gilded deity murti in a red-and-gold garment with a crown, and floral garlands in yellow, red and white fill the frame. Brass and silver kalasha-style vessels sit in the foreground. The pillared stone ceiling and warm lamplight complete the setting.2016-12-14A figure with long dark hair and a bare upper body, wearing a saffron-orange cloth and a red and blue garland, stands at left holding a lit oil lamp toward a large ornate deity murti. The murti is seated on a golden throne, adorned with an orange turban, dense gold necklaces, a leopard-print shawl, and a massive arrangement of marigolds and other flowers in red, yellow, purple, and white. Gold bangles adorn the figure's arm. The setting is an open-sided pavilion with a metal roof, green plants, and a painted pillar in the background.2015-01-04A young man with long dark hair, bare-shouldered in a saffron-orange cloth, adorns a deity murti with gold necklaces, while a tall figure in a white-beaded crown and gold garland stands at the centre of a gilded arch. Yellow, red and orange marigold and rose garlands drape the murti and the arch, and a tray of red flowers and offerings is held at the left. The setting suggests a temple ritual decoration (alankaram) with a decorated smaller murti in blue and green silk and jewelled ornaments.2015-01-09A photograph of a temple shrine decorated with multicolored flower garlands in red, yellow, white and purple. In the foreground a long-haired man in a rust-orange garment with a red-and-blue flower garland and gold bangles smiles and gestures toward the shrine; he has a white forehead mark. Beside him a shaved-headed priest in orange cloth is partly visible. Behind them stand two golden deity murti seated on a throne, one wearing a crown with an orange band and gold jewellery, the other with a raised hand and gold necklaces, with a golden kalasha and rudraksha malas hung in front. Two people are physically present in the scene.2015-01-04
