Hundreds of people, most bare-chested men in white dhotis and women in white saris, sit in rows on the steps, many with small brass or metal vessels set before them. A few figures in red robes stand at the left edge and near the right side, and a red flag and a lamp post are visible. A dark banner-like backdrop and a faded blue emblem sit on the back wall. The scene suggests a large ritual or congregational gathering, but no specific ceremony is clearly identifiable.2017-05-22Outdoor Guru Purnima gathering at a temple tank with red-painted stone steps descending to still green water. Hundreds of seated devotees, mostly in white clothes, fill the tiers, with some in orange and saffron. Several robed figures in orange sit near the lower steps beside a low platform and an umbrella. Drummers in white play drums on the steps, and a line of white-clad attendants stands along the right edge. Banana plants and strings of small lights line the upper railing.2013-07-22Photograph of a large outdoor ritual gathering on red sandstone steps beside a rectangular water tank. Rows of seated devotees in white dhotis and white saris fill the steps, many with rudraksha malas, some bare-chested, all facing the water. Dark stone kalasha-style pots stand before many of them. In the foreground a woman in an orange saree stands at the water's edge, her long hair down, facing the tank. Orange flags and a small shrine with a pale stone structure appear at upper left, with green trees behind the railing. Setting suggests a satsang or puja by the water. Roughly 100 people are visible.2017-05-29December 16 20162016-12-16 +1 copiesDecember 03 20162016-12-03
