October 29 20062006-10-29Night photograph of a crowded procession at a decorated ratha or temple-chariot structure. Behind the crowd, a golden-faced deity murti stands in the center, garlanded with yellow and orange marigold flowers and draped in colourful cloth. Two standing figures flank it in grey robes with orange-red shawls. At left, a framed portrait shows a figure in a white head wrap. Devotees press forward in white shirts, checked shirts and a headscarf, and an oil lamp or flame flares at the lower left. Gold-toned carved panels with wheel motifs frame the scene.2006-10-29October 29 20062006-10-29October 09 20062006-10-09A blurred night photograph of a dense crowd moving through a temple-street procession. A bright flame from a lit torch or lamp is held at left, lighting faces and white clothing. A man in the centre wears a plain white dhoti and shirt with a saffron-orange shawl draped over one shoulder, seen from behind. Many devotees in white and cream clothes, some women in white saris and head coverings, press around him. Painted pillars and a lit shrine entrance with a small deity figure or decorative stand are visible in the background, with a dark tree branch at upper right.2006-10-29Night outdoor fire ritual before a seated crowd. A large open flame rises from a brick-lined fire pit in the centre-right. Several people in white clothing sit in front of the fire with hands pressed together in prayer, and a woman in white is at the centre. A standing row of men in shirts watches from the back left, and many seated devotees, including children, fill the foreground. Behind the fire stands a framed portrait of a smiling figure in an orange head covering beside a decorated framed image of a deity murti garlanded with white flowers, with a white-draped table beneath. A bright fluorescent tube light hangs at the top. The scene reads as a homa or yagna.2007-10-01A blurry night photograph of a dense crowd gathered around a bright fire or flaming torch held at the centre-right. Several people in white and saffron-orange clothing lean toward the flame, and some raise their arms overhead. Faces and hands are partly blurred by motion. The area is dark with scattered light sources. No clearly identifiable a person candidate is distinguishable from appearance alone.2006-10-29October 12 20062006-10-12December 07 20162016-12-07July 01 20142014-07-01October 29 20062006-10-29June 04 20062006-06-04
