Left: a brass plate of dried leaves, herbs and seeds beside a rudraksha mala and a bundle of dried grass. Behind: small steel cups holding white and grey powders, a brass bowl of white powder, a glass vessel and a small brass lamp. Fresh green leaves and a red fruit sit at the left edge on a metal plate, with a small brass tray and dish in the background. No people are visible; the foods appear to be offerings or prasadam laid out for a ritual.2010-11-12Overhead photo of a food offering laid on an orange-cloth-covered surface scattered with yellow marigold petals and loose flowers. Four stainless steel containers hold prepared dishes: a pale creamy porridge-like preparation, white rice mixed with herbs, a golden-yellow dry grain dish flecked with curry leaves, and a dark-spiced dish at the front. Beside them, in a round metal bowl, are fried crisp rings and savoury fritters. No people are visible.2011-11-01Close photo of seated priests in rust-orange robes preparing ritual materials on a stone step. A priest wearing a dark rudraksha mala holds a thin golden stylus and works in a large silver-rimmed brass tray of pale yellow-white paste. Nearby trays hold white powder, deep red kumkum, and a small metal cup with a dark stick. Another robed person sits at the left edge. No face of the main priest is visible; the image shows hands and torso only.2016-10-16August 24 20062006-08-24A close indoor photograph of a ritual preparation on a low glass-topped table draped with a red-and-cream striped cloth.
