An outdoor ritual gathering under a open-sided pavilion with a lamp stand and fire pit at right. Many women seated on mats wear yellow and white garlands of marigold flowers, with saris in gold, orange, blue and teal. Standing at the back, several men in orange-saffron dhotis and bare chests play hand drums, and women in saris stand near the front holding flower offerings. Palms and greenery frame the scene behind them.

A photograph of a group of women seated on the ground in orange and red saris, performing a ritual with small brass oil lamps. In the foreground a woman in orange sari with a rudraksha mala sits cross-legged, tending a brass lamp, while a woman in a deep red sari to the right lights another lamp. Garlands of white and yellow flowers wrap the lamps and are scattered on red and pink mats, with coconut halves, banana fruit and brass vessels nearby. Another woman in a bright orange-red sari sits at left with her hands joined, and others behind wear white and orange clothing with vertical tilak marks. The setting appears to be a puja with oil lamp offerings. No a person candidate is visible.

A seated group of women in a courtyard during a ritual. Several wear saffron-orange saris or blouses with dark rudraksha malas, and one in a deep maroon sari holds a garland of white and yellow flowers over a brass oil lamp set on a cloth. Others in white and cream saris sit nearby, one touching her face with her hand, with a brass vessel and offerings on the ground. A bronze statue and garlands appear in the background, and the scene suggests a puja or aarti.
