Outdoor ritual setting with a standing man in white dhoti and white shawl bordered with gold, holding a brass kalasha-type vessel in one hand and raising a long gold-handled implement in the other. A brass lamp with a burning flame sits on a stainless steel table beside brass ritual implements, a bowl and a white yak-hair chamara fan with a gold handle. A red curtain hangs at left, palm trees and stone blocks stand behind, and a crowd is not visible. The man appears to be performing a puja or aarti.2013-12-06A man in white kurta and dhoti with a yellow shawl performs an aarti, holding a lit oil lamp on a plate with his right hand while standing before a draped stage of cream and red cloth with a red and white geometric pattern. A plastic chair sits to the right, a brass bowl with flowers lies in the lower right, and another person in white kneels at the lower left. The man has short dark hair and no visible long hair, crown, or rudraksha, so the appearance is uncertain and he is described by role only.2010-07-24May 05 20122012-05-05October 31 20112011-10-31September 21 20132013-09-21May 05 20122012-05-05December 07 20132013-12-07A photograph of an outdoor ritual on sand before a draped backdrop of red and cream fabric. A man with short dark hair in a white kurta and white dhoti with a red border, and a yellow shawl draped over one shoulder, holds a brass tray with a lit flame and red and green offerings, presumably an aarti. In the foreground, the backs of two people in white are seen, with a brass kalasha and bowls of coconuts and leaves on a table to the right. The scene suggests an outdoor puja, with the priest performing the aarti.2010-07-24A shaved-headed male priest in white ritual dhoti and shawl with gold borders stands outdoors before a low ritual setup. He tilts a clear glass vessel over a brass lamp or kalasha, pouring liquid, with a microphone on a stand beside him. Potted plants line a red-brick wall with white and red striped base, and a sign reading Sri Ashram is partly visible at top. Brass vessels sit on a purple mat and dark cloth in front of him, and a rudraksha mala hangs on his chest, with vertical tilak on his forehead. The setting suggests a puja or abhishekam at an ashram courtyard.May 05 20122012-05-05A shaved-headed man in white ritual dhoti and shawl with a heavy gold necklace and wrist watch holds a lit camphor flame on a silver aarti lamp, seated in front of a red and white striped backdrop with potted plants and a silver brass vessel in the foreground. Apparent aarti performed during a puja; the figure appears to be a priest rather than a clearly identifiable a person.2011-12-31A shaved-headed man in white ritual dhoti with a gold-bordered shawl and a rudraksha mala sits holding a silver aarti lamp in both hands, its flame rising toward his face as he performs the ritual. A microphone stands in the foreground. Behind him, a second white-clad attendant leans in at left, and blurred devotees sit with hands folded among green foliage. The man's face is not clearly identifiable as a person, and the appearance cues are insufficient, so he is described by role as a priest performing aarti.2012-04-30
