A large black stone Shivalinga stands in a shallow water tank with stepped tiered seating behind it, shown from a raised viewpoint. Water streams from the top of the linga and from a spout on its base, with a spray of water to the left. A metal staircase and railing lead up to the linga platform, where a small decorated shrine with a garland and a kalasha-like arch sits beside the steps. Several men stand on the steps and water's edge, bare-chested, wearing saffron and maroon dhotis and sacred threads, one standing in the water near the base. Others at the lower right are bare-chested and watching. The scene suggests an abhishekam ritual at the linga.2019-01-04January 04 20192019-01-04January 04 20192019-01-04Outdoor photo of a stepped stone amphitheatre-style ritual ground beside a large reflecting pool. A tall black stone Shivalinga stands in the water on a white metal staircase platform, flanked by rows of red seats. On the right, a row of smaller black Shivalingas sits on the stone steps with brass vessels set beside them. Several people in orange and saffron robes and white clothes stand along the steps and walkway, some raising hands in worship. Red flags are planted at the left edge. The people appear to be performing a ritual of reverence near the lingas.2017-03-26Wide view of an open-air stepped amphitheatre-style temple tank with a large black Shiva lingam on a raised red-and-white platform in the centre of the water, reached by a metal staircase. Two priests in orange-saffron robes stand at the base of the lingam performing worship. Rows of stone steps on both sides hold a small number of seated and standing devotees, and red flags line the walkways under a pale evening sky with palm trees behind the boundary wall.2016-10-17Photograph of a large outdoor Shiva temple water tank at dusk, with a tall black Shivalinga rising from a square platform in the centre of a still green-brown pool. Rows of smaller black lingams line the stepped stone embankments surrounding the water on the near side, and red-tiered seating stretches behind the tank beneath a tree at the left edge. A few distant figures in white and light clothing stand on the steps and walkways, and a red multi-storey building fills the background. The scene reflects the lingam in the water.2013-11-04March 26 20172017-03-26July 26 20102010-07-26April 22 20142014-04-22Outdoor photograph of a large black linga, the 21-foot AnandaLinga, rising from a central raised platform in a square reflecting water pool. Red-tiered stone steps surround the pool on all sides, with a row of black yoni-peetha bases lining the near edge. Crowds stand along the tiers and rim in the dusky light, and a few people in white and orange clothing gather near the right-hand steps beside a decorated flower-garlanded cart. Small oil lamps line the steps in the foreground. The sky is pale and the scene appears to be an evening gathering.2010-02-12July 26 20102010-07-26December 22 20182018-12-22 +2 copies
