January 04 20192019-01-04A large black stone Shivalinga stands in a shallow water tank with stepped tiered seating behind it, shown from a raised viewpoint. Water streams from the top of the linga and from a spout on its base, with a spray of water to the left. A metal staircase and railing lead up to the linga platform, where a small decorated shrine with a garland and a kalasha-like arch sits beside the steps. Several men stand on the steps and water's edge, bare-chested, wearing saffron and maroon dhotis and sacred threads, one standing in the water near the base. Others at the lower right are bare-chested and watching. The scene suggests an abhishekam ritual at the linga.2019-01-04March 26 20172017-03-26March 26 20172017-03-26January 04 20192019-01-04November 04 20132013-11-04Outdoor photo of a large black stone Shivalinga rising from a wide dark stone yoni-pitha basin at a temple tank, with water flowing down the sides. Several people in saffron and orange robes stand around it: one saffron-clad priest at the front right gestures toward the linga, another in orange stands at left beside a tall brass pole, and a few in white or light shirts and pants stand nearby. Five large brass vessels sit on the platform ahead, and a metal staircase with a drum-like structure rises at left. Red-and-white striped platform edges, rows of red stone seating and orange flags complete the setting. a person not clearly identifiable from appearance, so presented as a generic priest-led abhishekam scene.2017-03-26April 25 20132013-04-25March 26 20172017-03-26November 11 20132013-11-11June 10 20132013-06-10A large dark black stone Shivalingam, decorated with a red and white garland, stands on a square stone platform in an open-air ceremonial courtyard. Water flows over its top and drips from a spout on its base. Several robed figures in orange and saffron clothes climb metal staircases and stand on the red tiered stone steps around it, some holding small vessels. Rows of small lamps line the steps on the right, and a red-tiled building with orange walls stands behind. Some figures are visible at the left railing, and the scene appears to be an abhishekam being performed on the lingam.2013-06-10 +1 copies
