A central figure in an orange saffron shawl and long swept-back dark hair wears a white-and-multicolour flower garland and rudraksha mala, with a tilak on the forehead; this long-haired saffron-clad figure with garland and rudraksha is a probable Swamiji depicted in the procession. Around him, men in white dhotis and kurtas walk, one with a red-and-gold shawl carrying a brass tray with a kalasha-like pot, yellow-and-red flowers and a banana leaf. Several large fringed umbrellas in red, orange and white with decorative patterns are held overhead by attendants. Devotees, including children, watch from the roadside.2006-12-29December 23 20082008-12-23December 29 20082008-12-29Outdoor procession on a paved road under a bright sky. A central figure in orange sannyasi robes and an orange turban, wearing a long white flower garland, walks beneath an ornate orange and blue umbrella with fringed tassels bearing the word Nithyanandapeetam. Around him, men in white dhotis and orange shawls carry long brass-tipped poles and tall umbrellas with red, orange and blue canopies. A woman in a white sari with gold border carries a brass tray holding a pot and flower offerings. A tall brass trident is held aloft at right. The central figure's appearance does not clearly meet the threshold for identification, so he is described by role only.2007-02-06December 28 20062006-12-28Outdoor procession on a dirt road with palm trees behind, led by a bearded man in white dhoti and yellow shawl holding a brass kalasha pot with green leaves and flowers on a plate. Beside him walks a shaved-headed man in orange robes, another orange-robed man carries a ceremonial object, and a white-clad man on the right holds a tall umbrella-style standard with red, gold and blue embroidery. Two women in white saris with yellow borders walk in front, one with a long braid. Large colourful parasols with peacock motifs shade the group. Behind them a sign reads Nithya Annadhaan with the blessings of Paramahamsa Nithyananda, showing a portrait labelled Paramahamsa Nithyananda, rows of Shivalingams and food distribution images. Several people stand in the background near a silver car.2010-01-01
