A temple entrance procession in South India where several men in traditional dhotis carry offerings. On the left, a shirtless man in a white dhoti with a red-bordered cloth holds a basket of red flower garlands. In the centre, a bare-chested man with rudraksha beads on his neck and a tilak on his forehead holds a shallow basket of yellow limes. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands behind him with a wrapped shawl and gold bracelet. On the right, a bare-chested priest with a sandal-paste tilak and white beaded necklace carries a brass vessel garlanded with red flowers, and in the foreground a figure in an orange cloth faces away. Whitewashed walls, a wooden beam and green-painted pillars frame the scene.2006-11-27A photograph of a temple welcome procession at an entrance. Several men in white dhotis and shirts carry offerings: on the left a man holds a basket of red flowers, a man in the centre holds a basket of limes, and a man on the right holds a brass pot with flower garlands and a leaf arrangement. Some men are bare-chested with sandalwood or vibhuti marks on their foreheads, and one wears a rudraksha mala. Behind them a woman in a sari and an older man stand near a whitewashed wall with green and orange pillar trim and a palm-thatched shelter. Shoes are left on the ground at right. No a person candidate is visible.2006-11-27Outdoor photo under leafy trees of a welcome at a temple-type setting. In the centre, a figure in an orange-saffron robe with a long garland of yellow and orange flowers is being offered a large basket of red flowers held by a man in a white shirt and white trousers on the right. To the left, a bare-chested priest with a white dhoti and red-and-gold border, wearing a sacred thread and a red flower garland, holds an offering tray. Other men in white shirts and dhotis stand nearby, some with folded hands, and a man in an orange shawl is visible at the right edge. Several figures in white with orange shawls stand behind. The saffron-robed central figure's face and head are largely hidden by the basket and crowd, so the identity is uncertain.2006-11-27August 06 20092009-08-06A photograph of a welcome moment at an entrance. A man with long dark hair, a red tilak on his forehead, an orange saffron wrap and a thick garland of white jasmine and red flowers stands at left with hands pressed together in greeting. Facing him at right, a bare-chested priest in a sacred thread holds a tray of white flowers, green leaves and a brass vessel. Behind them, several men in white and cream shirts stand watching near a carved wooden doorway. Four to five people are visible in the scene.2009-08-08August 06 20092009-08-06August 06 20092009-08-06January 16 20182018-01-16Outdoor temple scene at a gopuram-flanked entrance with a golden palanquin decorated with flower garlands and a deity murti behind it. A long-haired person in a sleeveless orange-red garment with a white tilak on the forehead stands center-right, hands extended toward a brass tray of bananas, green leaves and coconut offered by a man in white shirt. Around them, men in white shirts and orange shawls, one bare-chested man with a rudraksha mala and a bearded man with red tilak stand in a crowd of onlookers. The scene suggests a temple offering or procession.2009-08-06November 27 20062006-11-27April 28 20182018-04-28 +1 copiesAugust 08 20092009-08-08
