Behind him, golden statues of deities sit under a gilded arch with yellow drapery: a central figure in a red and gold turban and bejewelled necklaces, a female figure in magenta with black hair and a flower, and a figure with a white turban at left. A statue at right wears a tiger-striped garment with folded hands. Garlands of orange and white flowers adorn the figures. The scene appears to be a temple abhishekam, and no living person other than the young man is visible.2015-08-28June 26 20132013-06-26A photograph inside a temple shrine showing a large deity murti pair seated on a golden-edged throne against an orange drape. The central figure wears a red and gold crown and a rudraksha-style beaded necklace, holding a trident-like object, while the consort beside them wears a gold crown, floral garlands and a yellow sari. A seated shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and white shirt performs puja, arranging brass vessels, plates and a kalasha on the stone platform. A small standing figure in a green-bordered orange sari stands to the right beside a golden niche with an oil lamp.2013-03-14January 24 20162016-01-24A temple shrine photographed indoors, with a gilded arched frame and green silk backdrop behind two large deity murtis, one wearing a crown and holding a trident and the other adorned with a tall crown and red garlands. In the foreground a young priest in maroon clothes bends over a black stone shivalinga-style base, pouring water from a small metal vessel as an oil lamp burns nearby. Brass pots sit on the floor and a second priest in maroon stands at left. On the right, a standing figure in saffron-orange robes with shaved head is beside a smaller gilded shrine holding a figure with red garlands. Tall brass oil lamps stand at right.2013-06-26Inside a temple shrine, a pair of gilded deity murtis sit on a black stone pedestal with a shivalinga-like pillar in front, draped in green and blue cloth and garlanded with red and yellow flowers. Two young priests in maroon dhotis tend brass oil lamps and a pot on the left, while a bald young man in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala stands at the right beside a smaller golden murti in a niche. Ornate gold arches frame the shrine, with metal vessels and small brass items on the floor.2013-06-26A photograph inside a temple shrine showing a dark stone Shivalingam on a black pedestal, with a person in dark grey robes bending forward over it, apparently pouring or offering something. Behind it stands a gilded arched frame enclosing a deity murti pair: a figure with a crown and orange turban, and a consort in a white and red sari, both wearing gold necklaces and garlands. Two standing statues flank the shrine, one on the left in red dhoti with a pink-and-white flower garland and red turban, and one on the right in red dhoti with a red-and-white bead necklace. Oil lamps are visible at the sides.2014-10-02September 05 20172017-09-05 +1 copiesA shrine scene centred on a dark-blue sculptural deity group under a gilded arch with a red curtain backdrop. A four-armed central figure in a red turban and white-and-gold garland holds a trident and drum-like object, seated beside a female figure in a red blouse and gold jewellery. Two standing statues flank the group: on the left a figure in an orange turban and striped orange-red garments with a rudraksha-style mala, and on the right a bearded figure in a red-and-black garment with beaded necklaces. A blue shivalinga-like form stands on a pedestal draped in purple and gold cloth, garlanded with yellow and red flowers, with brass oil lamps on both sides. These are statues, not living people.2014-06-16January 24 20162016-01-24
