November 18 20132013-11-18Devotees stand and bend at the edge of a stone-lined temple pool, dipping their hands and feet into the water. A man on the left wears a white shirt, black dhoti with a gold-bordered edge, and a dark shawl over his shoulder. Beside him a woman in white clothes and a red shawl leans forward to touch the water, and another woman in white with long dark hair bends toward the surface. Red-painted steps with white railings and pots of plants frame the pool, with other people in red robes visible on the steps behind.2013-11-18Night photograph of devotees seated in a long row along the stone edge of a water tank, performing tharpanam-style offerings with their hands over the water. Most wear white or cream clothing, several wear saffron/orange sarees and dhotis, and a few have red-and-yellow borders. An elderly woman in orange sari sits near the center, with a woman in white with a red bindi beside her. A woman in a red-and-white outfit leans forward at right, and a man in a red garment stands at the far end of the row. Terraced stone steps with potted plants and empty stadium-style seating appear in the background, with lights reflecting on the dark water.2013-12-26Outdoor ritual scene at a red-brick stepped structure lined with rows of black Shiva lingams on small pedestals and dark stone sculptures. A line of devotees in white and cream dhotis and saris climbs or descends stone steps beside a still water pool, many with palms pressed together in anjali. One figure in a bright orange robe stands at upper right with hands folded, and a child in a yellow sari walks at the lower right edge. Red flags and a white railing run along the steps, and reflections of the white-clad procession shimmer in the water.2017-08-14A large black stone Shivalinga stands in the centre of a rectangular reflecting pool at Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam-style ashram grounds, its yoni-shaped base rising from a red-and-white striped platform in still green water. A rainbow-coloured arch frames the lingam. Red stone terraced steps with rows of potted plants and flowers rise on the left and right, and a red multi-storey building with many windows stands at the upper right. Three figures in white clothing stand at the lower left edge of the pool area near the steps, and a green tree branch hangs in the foreground. Overcast morning light and mist surround the scene.2013-10-21 +1 copiesDecember 26 20132013-12-26A photograph of a large open-air red-tiered amphitheatre flooded with water, where many devotees stand waist-deep in the pool before a decorated raised seat. Water sprays from a fountain on the left. The central figure sits on a red throne beneath a yellow canopy and flower-garlanded arch, wearing orange robes and a rudraksha mala; the figure shows long hair and an orange garment, a person by appearance, but the identity is uncertain. Many people wear white dhotis and saris, some in orange or blue, standing in the water. Several children and adults hold hands and pray, and a woman in white looks toward the camera. The scene suggests a ritual bathing or abhishekam event during Dasara celebrations in Hyderabad.2010-10-17May 22 20172017-05-22 +1 copiesDecember 26 20132013-12-26Outdoor photo of a group of women standing on stone steps by a riverside, each holding a long silver staff topped with a trident or finial. The woman in front wears a white kurta and white trousers with an orange-red shawl printed with script, a rudraksha mala and a pendant. Behind her, a blonde woman in white and an older woman in a grey-and-black patterned kurta stand beside women in a rust-coloured sari and a white kurta with a red shawl. A man in a light blue shirt and dark trousers and men in white kurtas stand nearby, and a brown mat runs down the steps between the rows of staff-holders under a pale sky with power lines and roadside banners.2014-03-20August 14 20172017-08-14June 09 20092009-06-09
