April 17 20112011-04-17Night view of a large open-air gathering on a bare concrete ground, with hundreds of seated figures arranged in neat rows. Each figure wears white cloth wrapped over the body with orange-edged cloth at the base and a dark cylindrical headpiece, and many have garlands or cords around the neck. Bright floodlights on poles and a string of small lights along a fence illuminate the scene against a dark sky. The figures appear to be participants in a ceremonial sitting arrangement, possibly a mass ritual.2009-08-03Night-time photograph of a vast rows of seated devotees at an outdoor ground, each wearing white dhotis and shawls with saffron-coloured borders and garlanded with yellow and red flower garlands. Small pieces of paper or offerings lie on the ground near the front.
