Several hands, some wearing gold bangles and one with a white sacred-ash mark on the wrist, pour water from silver conch-shaped vessels decorated with red flowers over a brass tray. The tray is crowded with silver bowls of milk-white liquid, yellow and red flower petals, sliced green leaves, fruit, and a folded orange and gold cloth. Small brass oil lamps and a gold-coloured ritual setting fill the centre. Flower garlands in orange and yellow sit at the upper left. Only hands and arms are visible, so no full figures appear. This is a ritual abhishekam-style offering scene.2017-05-24Close-up photo of hands performing a ritual over a tray of silver bowls and flowers. Two pairs of hands, one wearing a red-brown beaded mala and gold bangles, the other with a tattoo on the wrist, lift and pour from small silver cups. Plates and bowls hold white flowers, yellow marigolds, pink petals, green leaves, milky liquid, red beads, and a small brass kalasha and oil lamp in the centre. A saffron-orange cloth edge and ornate gold brocade are visible at the top.2013-03-15A padapuja-style ritual at close range: a bare foot rests on a golden tray surrounded by silver bowls filled with red rose petals, white flowers, orange turmeric paste, and dark fruit or seeds. Several hands reach in to place white plumeria and red flowers, one wearing rudraksha and beaded bracelets. A woman in a red-and-gold border sari stands at left. Silver kalasha-style vessels sit among the offerings.2013-03-18Close photo of a puja ritual at a gold-toned altar. A seated person in orange robes, only the hands and feet visible, is surrounded by silver-rimmed gold trays holding small silver bowls of milky liquid and red and yellow flower petals. A bearded man in white garments reaches to a bowl at the left, a woman in a bangles and a green-bordered sari holds a silver cup at the right, and another person's hand reaches in from the lower left. A small golden deity murti or lamp stand sits among the flowers, with a red flower garland draped near the orange robe.2010-08-04November 24 20102010-11-24Close photo of a ritual offering being prepared on a large polished gold tray. Several hands reach in from the frame, one holding white flower petals and another arranging red and orange roses, marigolds and white blossoms around a small gold kalasha-like vessel and a red-beaded thread. A bangled wrist and a child's bare foot in a green and gold silk skirt appear at left, and a person in orange-red garments at top. Polished silver bowls and dishes surround the tray. No face of any person is visible, and no clearly identifiable a person figure appears in frame.2011-10-05Close view of a puja offering being made on a golden tray. Bare feet of a person seated or standing at the left edge rest near the tray, wearing gold bangles and an orange-red sari border with gold trim. A hand at the upper right pours liquid from a small silver vessel with a red flower tied to it. Many small silver bowls hold white milk-like liquid, yellow and green food items, sliced fruit, rice and sweets, arranged around a central brass or silver stand, with scattered marigold petals, red rose petals and yellow flowers. Orange ritual cloths are folded in several places. A small brass oil lamp sits near the centre. The scene suggests abhishekam and naivedya offerings in a temple setting, but no deity or a person is visible.2017-05-24March 07 20132013-03-07
