Outdoor photo at the riverbank of the Triveni Sangam with a seated figure in an orange robe and orange top, hands pressed in namaste, sitting on a black rubber mat on sandy ground. The figure has long, dark, wavy hair, a gold necklace and a gold-coloured pendant, and wears no visible crown or turban. Beside them on the left, a bearded man in a white kurta and dhoti sits with hands in anjali. Behind them, several devotees sit or stand, including a woman in a yellow top and a woman in maroon, with more people and white clothes in the background. A silver puja lamp on a tray sits on the left edge. Pale river water is visible in the distance. The figure's appearance is consistent with a person, but the cues are not distinctive enough to confirm, so identity is uncertain.2006-01-08January 08 20062006-01-08Riverbank ghat at the Triveni Sangam confluence in Allahabad, with muddy water on the left and a red wooden boat moored at the edge. In the foreground a man with long dark hair and a swept-back style, wearing an orange robe and a beaded necklace, sits cross-legged on a mat with his eyes closed. Beside him, a kneeling man in white ritual clothes holds his palms together in namaskar, and a silver lamp with a small brass pot sits on a metal tray in front. A woman in a grey jacket with a backpack crouches nearby, and other devotees in white, saffron and maroon sit and stand along the steps behind them.2006-01-08A photograph of an outdoor gathering where a long-haired man in an orange-saffron robe and orange top sits cross-legged on a black rubber mat, palms pressed together in namaste, with a gold ornamental necklace and a rudraksha-style mala visible. Around him seated devotees in yellow, maroon, white and blue clothing sit on the ground, one woman in a yellow jacket and grey trousers looks on, and a woman in a blue headband wears a maroon shawl. Bright daylight and a sandy ground suggest a riverside ritual setting. Whether this man is a person cannot be established from appearance alone, so the identity remains uncertain.2006-01-08A photograph of a homa at an outdoor stone platform in a crowded hill setting. In the centre, a figure with long dark swept-back hair, a red tilak on the forehead, a saffron robe and a large gold necklace sits cross-legged with hands joined, eyes closed, in prayer. Swamiji (probable): long hair, saffron clothing and ceremonial gold necklace. To his left, a young man in white dhoti with a saffron shawl and gold bracelet holds a trident and sits beside a small flame. Behind them, devotees in orange and brown woollen caps and shawls gather, and a woman in a white shawl sits among them. Silver and brass ritual vessels rest on the stone in front, and a standing crowd with ceremonial staffs fills the background.2006-05-30Outdoor gathering at the Triveni Sangam riverbank, with a crowd of devotees seated on sandy ground.
