Riverbank ghat at the Triveni Sangam confluence in Allahabad, with muddy water on the left and a red wooden boat moored at the edge. In the foreground a man with long dark hair and a swept-back style, wearing an orange robe and a beaded necklace, sits cross-legged on a mat with his eyes closed. Beside him, a kneeling man in white ritual clothes holds his palms together in namaskar, and a silver lamp with a small brass pot sits on a metal tray in front. A woman in a grey jacket with a backpack crouches nearby, and other devotees in white, saffron and maroon sit and stand along the steps behind them.2006-01-08Outdoor photo at the riverbank of the Triveni Sangam with a seated figure in an orange robe and orange top, hands pressed in namaste, sitting on a black rubber mat on sandy ground. The figure has long, dark, wavy hair, a gold necklace and a gold-coloured pendant, and wears no visible crown or turban. Beside them on the left, a bearded man in a white kurta and dhoti sits with hands in anjali. Behind them, several devotees sit or stand, including a woman in a yellow top and a woman in maroon, with more people and white clothes in the background. A silver puja lamp on a tray sits on the left edge. Pale river water is visible in the distance. The figure's appearance is consistent with a person, but the cues are not distinctive enough to confirm, so identity is uncertain.2006-01-08January 08 20062006-01-08A photograph of an outdoor gathering on a riverside stone terrace. A man with long dark swept-back hair, wearing a saffron-orange robe and a black waist sash, sits cross-legged with palms pressed together in prayer, eyes closed. He sits on a leopard-print cushioned seat. Around him seated devotees meditate with eyes closed: a woman in a maroon top with rudraksha beads, a man in glasses and white, a woman in a purple shawl with a gold pendant. A standing attendant in white clothes holds a long wooden staff at the right edge. Bags and water bottles lie on the stone steps behind.2006-05-22May 30 20062006-05-30A photograph of an outdoor ritual on stone steps by the Ganga at Gangotri. A person with long dark hair, wearing an orange saffron robe, a long gold-and-beaded necklace and dark rudraksha-style mala beads, sits with palms pressed together in namaste, eyes closed and smiling. Behind, another person in orange clothing is partly visible. To the left, a fire pit with flames, brass pots, a brass bowl and a metal tray with offerings sit beside the steps. Several people in orange robes sit on the steps in the background, with blue-and-white striped poles framing the scene. A water bottle, a red bucket and sneakers lie nearby.2006-05-27Outdoor ritual scene in front of a pink temple wall. A long-haired figure in saffron-orange robes with a gold-bordered shawl and a rudraksha-style bead necklace sits cross-legged on the ground with palms pressed together in prayer. Beside him, shaved-headed men in white dhotis with gold borders kneel with hands folded. Behind them, a standing man in a blue jacket and a man in a red-checked shirt watch, one holding a camera, and a row of standing devotees in saffron and white stands along the right. In the foreground, a brass plate of offerings sits near a saffron-robed figure seen from behind. The long-haired figure in saffron is a visible candidate with distinctive saffron and bead cues, but the appearance is uncertain, so the role is given as devotee in prayer.2010-12-29January 08 20102010-01-08A photograph of a homa at an outdoor stone platform in a crowded hill setting. In the centre, a figure with long dark swept-back hair, a red tilak on the forehead, a saffron robe and a large gold necklace sits cross-legged with hands joined, eyes closed, in prayer. Swamiji (probable): long hair, saffron clothing and ceremonial gold necklace. To his left, a young man in white dhoti with a saffron shawl and gold bracelet holds a trident and sits beside a small flame. Behind them, devotees in orange and brown woollen caps and shawls gather, and a woman in a white shawl sits among them. Silver and brass ritual vessels rest on the stone in front, and a standing crowd with ceremonial staffs fills the background.2006-05-30May 30 20062006-05-30January 06 20062006-01-06August 18 20162016-08-18
