A photograph of a ritual at an indoor temple room with a stone-topped table draped with an orange cloth, holding a brass oil lamp and a small brass vessel. A figure in an orange saffron robe and an orange turban stands at right, holding a brass bell and a bowl with a flame, with a rudraksha mala around the neck; the appearance cues are distinctive but the figure's identity is uncertain, so this is a priest or sannyasi in orange. Around them about eight devotees in white ritual clothes and some in red and pink saris stand with hands folded, one holding a camera. Behind them are a lattice screen and framed photographs, one showing a seated figure in white.2004-07-02Indoor ritual photograph at night. A figure on the left wears an orange turban and orange shawl, holding a brass ritual vessel over a draped orange cloth on a stone table, apparently performing a pooja. Behind him, several people in white clothes stand near a lit oil lamp and a standing brass lamp decorated with flower garlands. A woman in white stands at the right with hands together. A green curtain hangs beside a red and green garlanded deity murti at the right edge, and a flame glows through a lattice screen in the background.2004-07-02A small room with a wooden-beamed ceiling and tiled floor, where a shrine wall is decorated with white, orange and multicoloured flower garlands. A man with long dark hair and an orange sleeveless robe with an orange shawl stands at the left, holding a lit oil lamp toward the shrine while a small flame burns. Behind him a monk in orange robes stands with hands folded in prayer, a woman in a white sari with gold border and gold bangles folds her hands, and a man in a white shirt and glasses presses his palms together at the right. Framed pictures and oil lamps sit on the altar, with flower offerings in front.2010-02-15July 02 20042004-07-02January 02 20122012-01-02June 05 20122012-06-05 +1 copiesA temple ritual photograph in a stone-walled hall. A priest in white dhoti on the left holds a flaming lamp over a decorated palanquin draped in red and white, garlanded with red and pink flowers. In front, a figure in saffron-orange robes with a red shawl and a garland of flowers and beads, wearing a red and white headdress, raises hands in devotion. Beside him stand two saffron-robed sannyasis with garlands and bead malas, one with a long beard and another shaved-headed. Devotees in white stand behind. The scene suggests a palanquin procession ritual at a Hindu temple.2012-06-05 +1 copiesSeptember 05 20122012-09-05A photograph inside a temple-like hall with a bamboo ceiling and oil lamps hanging from above. A standing figure in an orange-saffron dhoti and matching orange turban holds a brass bell in one hand and reaches toward a tiered brass lamp with a flame, performing aarti before an ornate dark metal arch framed by white and red flower garlands and a red-clad deity murti. Brass lamps, a tall brass lamp stand, flower-filled plates and a bunch of bananas sit on a red and white painted altar. A man in white clothing stands at the left edge, partly visible. Tie-in: this is an aarti offering with lamps and bell.2003-01-01A central figure in orange saffron robes and a matching orange turban stands on a woven mat, holding a brass multi-flame aarti lamp in one hand and a brass hand bell in the other. Around him a group of devotees in white traditional clothing stands in a semicircle, several with hands folded in anjali, others holding small bells. A woman on the left wears a white sari with a green border. A portrait of a saffron-clad figure hangs on the left wall and a framed deity image on the right, under a thatched bamboo ceiling with a hanging light. The central figure wears a long rudraksha mala and a gold pendant, and appears to be performing an aarti ritual. +1 copiesOctober 12 20062006-10-12July 02 20142014-07-02 +1 copies
