KAILASA LOS ANGELES, USA on 7/15/20192019-07-15A bare-chested man with long dark hair and a beard leans forward at a temple altar, pouring liquid over a small gold deity figure standing on a gold tiered base during an abhishekam. He wears a white dhoti with gold borders and a long rudraksha mala hangs from his neck. White ash marks his arms. Behind him stands a large copper-toned statue, and beside the altar a smaller gold figure of a deity holds a staff. Red drapes, gold cloth and a dark stone basin frame the scene, with yellow liquid spilling across the platform.2019-07-15A man in white clothes and a red-orange rudraksha mala pours water from a gold-coloured pot onto a white marble statue of a seated figure, with a small gold-coloured deity figure beside it. Behind him stands a large gold-toned sculpture of a seated deity on a lotus pedestal, with green foliage in the background. The scene resembles an abhishekam, a ritual bathing of a murti. The man is standing and bending over the statue; he is the only physical person visible.2009-06-15February 18 20112011-02-18November 10 20112011-11-10December 14 20102010-12-14June 15 20092009-06-15A temple priest in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with a large gold-beaded necklace and bangles, leans forward and pours liquid from a silver vessel over a black stone shivalinga. Beside it stand a small gold-toned deity murti of a standing female figure with a crown, and a white marble statue of a seated figure in meditation with a white head covering and a red tilak mark. A gold kalasha-shaped base sits in front. The setting is a temple with golden decorated surfaces behind. This looks like abhishekam ritual activity.2011-12-28December 12 20122012-12-12A temple abhishekam scene: a priest in white dhoti with gold border pours water from a brass kalasha over small gold murtis on a black stone pedestal. A gold figure of a standing sage stands at left, a golden shivalinga-like tiered base in the centre, and a gold figure in a maroon garment at right receives the water. Yellow flower petals lie on the dais, with a red curtain and gold cloth in the background. No person's identity is evident from the image; the priest is shown from the waist down.2019-07-15July 05 20102010-07-05May 05 20152015-05-05
