Several men in saffron and orange robes walk together. The man in front wears a tall headdress of flowers and white plumes, marked with a trident-topped staff, and holds a long pole. Behind him, others in orange hold a shawl, and two men at left wear yellow garments with white dhotis. At far right, a smiling man in a bright orange robe wears a dark rudraksha mala and a gold ceremonial necklace, with tripundra marks on his forehead. The setting suggests a temple procession, though no printed text is visible.2009-07-13January 22 20142014-01-22 +1 copiesOctober 03 20152015-10-03A procession of saffron-robed sadhus and devotees walks along a dusty road at a mela camp under hazy sky. A man at center with long dark hair, a gold ceremonial necklace, rudraksha mala and an orange shawl, carrying a gold staff, walks beneath a multicoloured canopy umbrella with eagle and lotus motifs and the printed words of the event. Several men wear orange turbans and orange robes; some carry trishul-topped gold staffs. A bare-footed young man in white and orange follows, and a man in a plaid shirt stands at right. Tents, flags, utility poles and a stall with red cloth appear in the background. In the foreground, a bare-chested man with a vermilion tilak carries a brass kalasha wrapped in a yellow marigold garland and green leaves. Behind him, a bearded man in orange robes and a gold chain walks with gold-rimmed glasses. Next, an elderly bald man in orange robes stands with palms pressed together. On the right, a young man in an orange turban and orange robes wears a dark rudraksha mala and smiles. Men in white shirts and dhotis fill the background, and marigold garlands appear at the edge.2009-01-16January 19 20142014-01-19Barefoot saffron-robed swamis walk across a mosaic courtyard in front of a white temple with ornate arched doorways and painted borders. The sign on the building reads Shri Dasha Mahavidya temple style lettering, and a plaque above a doorway reads Shri Maheshwar Mahadev. In the centre, a man in brown-orange dhoti and shawl wears a white-and-pink flower garland and walks beside a bald man holding a silver trident. Behind them, more orange-clad sadhus and a woman in orange stand at the temple entrance. A woman in red and green walks at left, and a man in orange stands at the far left edge. The swami with the garland has distinctive visible cues of ceremonial adornment, but identity is uncertain from appearance alone.2014-01-22A seated man in a red-maroon turban and maroon robe with gold-yellow borders sits on a stone step against a sandstone wall, wearing a marigold and white jasmine garland and a gold pendant over rudraksha beads. He rests one hand on a red patterned mat and holds a tall silver staff with engraved decoration, smiling. Behind him stand devotees in maroon and gold-bordered robes with rudraksha malas; one holds a small metal cup and another a water bottle. Setting appears to be a stone temple ghat in Varanasi.2015-10-03February 15 20132013-02-15 +1 copies
