Several men in the foreground sit on the steps; others stand with hands folded in front of them. Behind them, rows of black stone deity figures and small shrine plinths line a tiered red wall, with saffron flags on white poles and green trees above. Pale flower petals scatter the pool's stone edge. The scene resembles a ritual gathering at the ashram before a bathing or puja.2017-08-14May 22 20172017-05-22 +1 copiesA large photograph of many people seated in rows on red sandstone steps beside still water, performing a riverside ritual. Dozens of devotees wear white dhotis and white shawls, some bare-chested in orange or saffron cloths, while others are dressed in orange and saffron sannyasi robes. Many sit before small black and brown ritual vessels and brass lamps arranged along the steps, and a few stand with flower garlands. Orange flags on poles, flowering shrubs and a small shrine-like structure frame the scene. The water reflects the steps and seated figures.2017-05-29September 19 20162016-09-19 +1 copies
