Several men in saffron and orange garments and white dhotis stand on a red-edged platform and steel scaffold stairs around the base, performing abhishekam. Red flags on poles line the terraced stone steps, where more people in white clothing are seated or walking. A tree and a stone building with a doorway sit behind the courtyard.2016-09-19January 02 20102010-01-02 +1 copiesJanuary 02 20092009-01-02Aerial photograph of a large black stone Shivalinga on a raised square platform in a water tank, with water jets spraying around it and garlands of orange and yellow marigolds draped on the lingam and base. Many devotees stand and bathe waist-deep in the brownish water, most dressed in white clothing, while others in colourful saris and salwars wade nearby. Red-tiered steps around the tank are crowded with white-clad people watching. A decorated float with orange and yellow flower garlands sits at the left edge of the water. Trees, a water tower and buildings are visible in the background under a pale sky.2010-01-02 +1 copiesA large black Shivalinga stands in a shallow pool of water at an outdoor ashram courtyard, its base wrapped in garlands of red and orange flowers and a ring of white flower chains. Two men in white dhotis wade in the water beside the lingam, one lifting his arm near its base. On the right, a staircase leads up to a platform where several people in white and in orange robes stand near the top of the lingam, with water spraying from pipes at the sides. Behind, tiered red steps are packed with hundreds of people dressed in white, many with raised hands, under palm trees and a clear sky. A purple balloon or umbrella floats at the upper left. The scene is an abhishekam ceremony.2010-07-25
