Photo 11710651Night street scene in a crowded Tamil town, with people pressing close around a central figure. A bearded man with long swept-back dark hair wears a rust-brown robe, with a garland of white and orange flowers draped over his shoulders, and smiles broadly. Around him, several men wear white tripundra forehead markings; one in a black shirt raises his arm, another in a yellow shirt and white shawl reaches toward him, and a man in a white shirt presses forward on the right. Buildings and a utility pole are visible behind, and a few people hold up mobile phones. Text is not legible in the frame.2017-02-07February 07 20172017-02-07February 07 20172017-02-07Photo 11710647 +3 copiesPhoto 11710636 +3 copiesPhoto 11710635 +1 copiesFebruary 07 20172017-02-07A night-time street procession in a crowded Indian town. A bearded man with long swept-back hair and a white tripundra mark on his forehead wears a large garland of white, yellow, pink and green flowers over a rust-orange shawl, smiling and raising a hand in greeting. Around him devotees in saffron-orange cloth and rudraksha malas walk close, one holding a brass vessel, and a bearded man in a white dhoti with gold chains stands at right. Shopfronts and onlookers, some holding phones, line the background, and a man in blue shirt is seen from behind in the foreground.2017-02-07 +2 copiesMay 15 20182018-05-15Photograph taken at night outdoors at a temple-side area with a whitewashed building, a yellow-and-blue Tamil signboard, and a small shrine with a decorated dome. A bearded man in a saffron-orange shawl with a green leaf garland and white forehead markings stands at the centre, smiling, with his hand raised near a crowd. Around him are many people in orange and saffron clothing with bead necklaces and white vibhuti or sandalwood markings on their foreheads and bodies, some bare-chested. A man in a white shirt and a young man in a purple shirt are nearby, and a person in the foreground holds up a mobile phone to photograph the central figure. Several onlookers, including children, crowd close together.2017-02-07 +1 copiesApril 09 20172017-04-09 +1 copies
