Night photograph of a large outdoor temple tank with a tall dark Shiva lingam on a tiered pedestal rising from water at its centre, with water streaming from its upper part. Striped red-and-white borders surround the central platform. Numerous devotees stand and sit on the stepped stone edges and in the water, many wearing orange and red robes and white dhotis, some bare-chested. Several figures wear red garments and move through the water near the lingam. Steps and railings lead up to a tiered red seating area lit by floodlights, with orange flags and gold-coloured arches in the background.2017-08-02July 24 20172017-07-24 +1 copiesFebruary 20 20172017-02-20Photo 11744623 +1 copiesNight photograph of a large dark stone Shivalingam on a black circular peetha, draped with a garland of yellow and purple flowers, with water flowing down its sides during abhishekam. A standing figure in light clothing stands on a raised platform beside the lingam, holding a ceremonial object above it. Along the right side, a metal staircase rail leads up toward rows of seated devotees in white and orange clothing. Other people in white sit on stone steps at the left, and a dark water basin reflects the scene in the foreground.2013-12-30February 17 20172017-02-17February 15 20172017-02-15August 02 20172017-08-02August 02 20172017-08-02February 18 20172017-02-18Night photograph of a large dark stone Shiva lingam on a circular black yoni-pitha base, standing in shallow water, decorated with a garland of red, yellow and white flowers wrapped around its upper half. Behind it, rows of people in white clothes sit on stone steps at left, and a metal staircase at right is lined with figures in orange and saffron robes, some standing on the steps. A cone-shaped light fixture and floodlights illuminate the scene. The setting suggests an abhishekam or rudrabhishekam ritual at night.2013-12-30March 03 20112011-03-03 +1 copies
