A photograph inside a large open-sided hall with brick walls and a corrugated roof. Six men in orange and saffron robes and brown dhotis stand on a paved floor. Two monks wear orange turbans; one holds a long wooden staff and gestures with his hand. A central monk in orange robes and a rudraksha mala with a name badge stands with his hands clasped at his waist. At left, a standing man in a brown dhoti and gold necklace looks down beside a gold-coloured deity murti. Workers and a green wooden cart are visible in the background.2013-10-19Four men walk together through a narrow tent-like passage with white fabric walls. In the centre, a man with long swept-back dark hair, a white forehead band, a bare chest and multiple heavy gold chain necklaces with bead and pendant ornaments wears a rust-brown dhoti with a gold border. On the left, a smiling man in saffron-orange robes and an orange knitted cap with a red tilak holds a saffron shawl. On the right, a man in orange robes and a beige knitted cap, and another in orange with a rudraksha mala, walk nearby. Behind them, further monks in orange robes stand in the passage.2013-02-07Outdoor photo at an ashram-style building with orange-washed walls and a dark red door. A gray-haired older woman in an orange shawl and a black rudraksha mala stands centre with a white vibhuti line on her forehead. Beside her a man in an orange turban and orange robes with a black mala and a white name badge walks, and behind them other saffron-robed men carry a staff. On the left, a bald man in brown-orange robes wears a brown rudraksha mala beside a woman in a dark-haired braid, yellow-bordered wrap and a long beaded necklace. A corrugated metal wall stands at right. Several people in saffron and orange robes gather in the passage.2013-10-19A photograph of a group of saffron-robed sannyasis in an open, partly built hall with brick walls and a concrete floor. In the foreground, a man with slicked-back hair, wearing a brown-gold shawl, a long gold-beaded necklace and a red tilak, points at his own forearm while speaking. Beside him an older man with white sandalwood markings on his forehead and a rudraksha mala holds his hands together in greeting. Behind them, a bearded man in orange with a red tilak and a beaded mala stands near a younger man in an orange turban holding a wooden staff. Another orange-clad man stands at right, and figures work in the background near tables and colourful decorations.2013-10-19October 19 20132013-10-19October 19 20132013-10-19October 19 20132013-10-19A photograph in an indoor utility room with white tiled walls and a green metal rolling-press machine with steel rollers. In the centre, an older man with swept-back grey hair, a white tilak on his forehead and a rudraksha mala stands in saffron-orange robes with hands clasped, looking downward; this figure shows several a person-style cues, so he is a person candidate. To the left, a smiling man in brown and gold robes wears a gold pendant and a rudraksha mala and has a red bindi. Behind them, a bearded man in a white vest and another man stand near a pipe. On the right, a shaved-headed man in saffron robes stands beside a man in a saffron turban and rudraksha mala who holds a small silver dish, while another saffron-robed man in the right foreground looks on. Four to five people are visible.2013-10-19A photograph of an indoor exchange in a temple-style room with a framed sepia picture on the left wall and a checkered tile dado. A man in saffron-orange robes with a bright orange turban and a long dark rudraksha mala holds a small silver-toned kalasha-like vessel decorated with marigold and red flower garlands, while a bald man in pale saffron robes reaches to receive or support it. Behind them a third man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala watches, and another orange-clad figure stands at the right edge. The setting is warm and ceremonial, consistent with a ritual offering or blessing.2010-01-28Indoor scene in a wood-panelled room with a framed sepia photograph on the left wall.
