In the centre, an elderly man with long white hair and beard wears a saffron robe and orange shawl, his hands extended in greeting toward a woman at right. She wears a rust-red head wrap, a red-brown garment, pearl necklaces and bangles, and holds a golden lion-headed object wrapped in orange cloth. Beside them a bald man in a brown-red garment and rudraksha mala stands, and to the right another man in orange adjusts cloth. Men at left wear orange robes and beards. Possibly a satsang gathering in Haridwar.2014-03-20September 15 20152015-09-15 +1 copiesAugust 09 20072007-08-09Photo of a puja at an outdoor Hindu ritual setting. A man with long, swept-back dark hair, bare-shouldered in an orange cloth and wearing ceremonial gold bead necklaces, leans forward holding a silver kalasha-style vessel and a silver puja vessel on a tray. Beside him, a shaven-headed priest in orange robes with white forehead marks and glasses holds a small tray with a card or packet, and another man in orange with gold-bead necklace and maroon-edged cloth holds a silver dish. Behind them, a man in a red and gold turban and a person in yellow robes stand among onlookers, with orange flags visible overhead. A videographer's camera is at the left edge. The figure with long hair and orange cloth is a candidate for a person by appearance, but the identification is uncertain.2009-10-17Photograph of a crowded indoor hall under a corrugated metal roof with exposed steel trusses. In the centre, a man with long swept-back hair, a red bindi, a dark rudraksha mala and an orange saffron robe reaches out to bless a devotee. A second orange-robed sannyasi in the right foreground holds a silver tray with gold ornaments. A man in a light blue shirt and a man on the left with white forehead markings stand with palms pressed together in namaskar. Women in saris and a purple top watch from behind a metal barrier. Swamiji (probable): the central orange-robed figure with long hair, rudraksha mala and bindi.2010-10-30October 19 20132013-10-19Photo of a crowded doorway procession at an ashram-style interior with warm orange walls. A woman in a rust-red turban and a brown shawl with gold beaded necklaces smiles at left. A bearded elder with long grey hair and a red-orange wrap, wearing a gold pendant and beaded necklace, bows his head. A saffron-robed man in orange holds a raised hand near a silver staff or ceremonial rod. A bald man in glasses and a maroon shawl wears gold beaded necklaces and stands behind him. A grey-bearded man in orange cloth stands at right, and a saffron-turbaned sannyasi bows in the foreground. Several other saffron-clad attendants surround them, and a uniformed officer's arm is visible at left edge.2016-04-21A temple hall with a corrugated roof and a shrine behind a red-and-white railing, where a deity murti with a red-and-gold backdrop and garlands is visible. In the centre, a man with long dark hair wears an orange saffron garment, a rudraksha mala and a visible throne-style seat behind him, greeting a devotee in white dhoti who has palms pressed together. Beside him, a shaved-headed attendant in orange robes and a rudraksha mala holds a silver tray. Devotees in white and yellow garments stand along the railing with hands joined in namaskar. Oil lamps and offerings are placed on the floor. The scene reflects a darshan or pada puja at a temple. Swamiji (probable) is the long-haired figure in orange with the rudraksha mala, identified by the orange robe, long swept hair and mala cues, while the attendant and devotees are priests and devotees.2010-11-02
