Several men in saffron and orange garments and white dhotis stand on a red-edged platform and steel scaffold stairs around the base, performing abhishekam. Red flags on poles line the terraced stone steps, where more people in white clothing are seated or walking. A tree and a stone building with a doorway sit behind the courtyard.2016-09-19June 01 20212021-06-01 +1 copiesA photograph of a large open-air red-tiered amphitheatre flooded with water, where many devotees stand waist-deep in the pool before a decorated raised seat. Water sprays from a fountain on the left. The central figure sits on a red throne beneath a yellow canopy and flower-garlanded arch, wearing orange robes and a rudraksha mala; the figure shows long hair and an orange garment, a person by appearance, but the identity is uncertain. Many people wear white dhotis and saris, some in orange or blue, standing in the water. Several children and adults hold hands and pray, and a woman in white looks toward the camera. The scene suggests a ritual bathing or abhishekam event during Dasara celebrations in Hyderabad.2010-10-17November 18 20132013-11-18A large open-air stepped tank with a tall black stone Shiva lingam on a circular pedestal in the middle of the water, with water spouting around it. Many people, mostly in white clothes and some in colourful saris and salwar, stand waist-deep in the water, bathing and offering prayers, while others stand on the white stone steps at the edges. Red-and-white tiered seating lines the far walls, a blue tarpaulin and green trees sit beyond, and a few-storey building stands at left under a blue sky with clouds.2009-07-01Photograph of many shivalinga stone lingams arranged in tiers on red brick stepped terraces, with devotees in saffron and orange robes pouring water over them with hoses and vessels. Several figures in orange and maroon clothing work along the steps, and a person in white stands on the left terrace. Red and orange flags line the fenced enclosure, with trees, a yellow construction crane and a megaphone on a pole in the background.2016-09-19Outdoor abhishekam scene on a red-brick stepped courtyard lined with black stone shivalinga pedestals. A bald man in a saffron-orange top and orange trousers bends over a pedestal on the lower step; he has no visible distinctive a person cues such as long hair, crown, rudraksha mala or gold necklace, so no identification is made. A man in white dhoti and shirt bends at another lingam on the left. A young girl in white with yellow border stands holding a brass pot, and a woman in white with a rudraksha mala holds brass bells. A woman in a pink sari and another in red-and-orange sari appear at upper steps, and a red-and-yellow flag stands in the foreground.2016-09-19Outdoors at a water tank, a large black stone Shivalingam stands on a raised platform while water sprays upward from its top and sides. Many people in white clothing fill the tiered stone steps and the surrounding area behind it. In the foreground, several young men in saffron-orange robes walk down stone steps toward the water, one carrying a small brass vessel and another wearing a white garland. A man in white with a yellow shawl holds a red and orange ceremonial umbrella with fringe over them. Other saffron-robed attendants follow along the steps, with a green tree and red festival bunting in the background.2009-01-02September 19 20162016-09-19
