May 15 20162016-05-15A night photograph of a riverside or lakeside ghat in an Indian town. Green-lit trees, strings of white and coloured lights and street lamps line the far bank. A white domed structure with a golden finial stands at right, with a lit shrine-like tower at left. Many small figures of people gather along the stepped embankment at right, but they are too distant and indistinct to count individually. Their reflections and the illuminated buildings shimmer on the dark water in the foreground, and a metal railing runs along the near bank.2016-05-15April 24 20162016-04-24Night photograph of a river at a Kumbh Mela site in Uttar Pradesh. Golden street lamps and lights reflect on the rippling dark water in the foreground. Along the far bank, a crowd stands near illuminated buildings, and a multi-storey structure with painted deity imagery stands at left under a hazy orange sky. Distant tall poles rise on the right. No individual people are clearly distinguishable from this distance.2013-02-15April 24 20162016-04-24March 20 20142014-03-20January 02 20092009-01-02A night photograph of a crowded riverside ghat at a temple in India, with a large throng of people in white, red and green clothes gathered on steps above a metal railing and dark water in the foreground. A banner hangs from a stone building in the background, and bright lights and speakers stand to the right. Some people wade or stand at the water's edge behind the railings. No individual can be identified as a person with sufficient cues.2015-09-16April 24 20162016-04-24Night photograph of a illuminated temple tank or pond at a festival. Rows of small oil lamps and strings of coloured lights line the stepped white-edged banks and a hanging line of lanterns stretches across the background. A group of people in white and some in yellow and orange clothing stands and gathers at the water's edge on the left, with a few others on the steps to the right, some in white dhotis. Dark trees and palms silhouette the night sky, and reflections of the lights shimmer on the water.2009-01-02Photo 11702495January 02 20092009-01-02
