A festival procession on a dirt path beneath coconut palms. Several devotees in white dhotis and kurtas carry offering trays: one young man in a yellow shawl and rudraksha mala holds a tray of bananas, a coconut, an orange, an apple, sweets and white flowers; another man with an orange shawl and tilak balances a silver tray of fruit and flowers on his head; a third carries a tray of white flowers and bananas. Ornate red, green and orange parasols with tasselled fringes and a silver trident stand behind them. Onlookers in white shirts and dhotis walk alongside, some wearing ID lanyards.2009-12-23A procession of devotees walks along a dirt path in front of a grey breeze-block wall and green shrubs. Most wear saffron-orange and red-orange robes with golden borders and rudraksha malas. Foreground figures carry silver trays of marigold and red and white flower garlands, and a bundle of folded white cloth. A bald man in white shirt and white dhoti carries a tray of flowers and a long braid of garland. Behind them, other devotees in orange robes and malas carry trays of flowers and cloth as part of a dhwajarohanam procession.2013-12-18Outdoor procession on a dirt path beside a stone wall and trees. In the foreground a man in white shirt plays a long wind instrument (nadaswaram-style). Behind him, a woman in an orange-red sari carries a metal tray of marigolds, red and white flowers. Several men in orange-red robes with rudraksha malas walk in the procession, some with shaved heads. To the right, a man in white carries a tray of white and red garlands, and a bundle of straw or rope is visible. A few more people in white and orange follow. The scene suggests a ritual procession with flower offerings.2013-12-18December 18 20132013-12-18December 24 20152015-12-24Photograph of an evening offering at a temple-style courtyard with red walls and a lotus motif. A table draped in peach cloth holds baskets and plates of bananas, oranges, apples, melons, coconuts and berries, alongside stacked books and a printer. Five people stand around it: a woman in a maroon sari with gold border and rudraksha mala places fruit; a shaved-headed woman in maroon robe and glasses holds a mala; a man in white dhoti and shawl with gold border stands in the centre; at right, a smiling woman in maroon robe holds a plate of melon and bananas; and a shaved-headed man in orange-saffron cloth with white tilak and armbands stands behind her. No candidate for a person is clearly identifiable by appearance, so no identification is made.2013-11-21December 24 20152015-12-24January 15 20162016-01-15 +1 copiesA dirt-road procession moves between palm trees and a concrete wall, led by women in plain white saris with gold-bordered edges and rudraksha-style beaded necklaces. Several carry brass trays of fruit, including bananas, oranges and green-yellow mangoes, and one tray holds sweets. Behind them, many men in white kurtas and shawls walk alongside saffron-robed figures, and decorated orange-and-yellow parasols rise above the crowd. A young woman in an orange scarf stands at the left edge. Small white name badges are visible on some participants.2008-12-25December 18 20132013-12-18March 11 20172017-03-11December 18 20132013-12-18
