The largest ring sits in the foreground, with smaller rings spread across the ground toward a striped red and white wall at the back. Palm trees and a distant hill are visible beyond the wall, and a few plastic bags lie on the ground. No people are present.2006-08-16Close-up photograph of a small pile of dry twigs, thin straw-like stalks and pale split sticks heaped on broken dried cow-dung cakes, with a single small yellow flower tucked among them. The background is blurred dark earth. No people are visible.2015-11-22A close photograph of a heap of fine tan-brown sand or earth filling most of the frame. A person's hands, blurred in motion, sift or spread the granular material at the top right, with a white garment sleeve visible at the upper edge. Small pebbles and clumps are scattered across the surface, and dark shadows fall across the lower portion. No faces are visible, no ritual objects are present, and the scene appears to show a hands-on preparatory or ground-level activity.2013-04-24A close photograph of a ritual offering on bare reddish earth. A shallow metal bowl holds halved coconuts, red flowers, green leaves, a few fruit pieces and burning incense sticks sending up smoke. Beside it stands a rough-cut stone block marked with yellow turmeric and red kumkum, with a red flower placed on top. A brass lamp stand with a blackened fire bowl and a larger metal vessel with orange-stained contents sit in the background. No people are visible.2014-06-19Close photograph of a brass tray holding a pile of flat, dried brown cow-dung cakes with ridged, wavy surfaces, set on a grey stone floor beside a red and purple cloth.
