A central bearded man in an ochre-brown robe wears a large multicoloured flower garland and holds a small silver bowl; a white-clad man in a dhoti and gold chain stands beside him, and a man in white shirt and dhoti bends forward to receive from the bowl. Around them devotees wear saffron and orange cloths, rudraksha malas, tripundra marks and gold necklaces, while one devotee holds a white ceremonial pot.2017-02-07 +2 copiesJuly 13 20222022-07-13Photo 11699154Evening procession with several devotees in a street lit by flames. In the foreground a man in white shirt and dhoti with glasses and a tilak holds a silver-rimmed tray of burning camphor or flame on a plate. Beside him a woman in a white sari with a red bindi walks holding a small cup-like vessel, and behind her a woman in white holds a small brass plate. On the right, a smiling man in a saffron-orange robe wears a long purple-and-white flower garland, rudraksha mala beads and a tilak, and holds a tall golden trident. Ceremonial parasols with tasselled fringes in red, orange and green are raised above the crowd. A silver tray in the lower right holds an offering with orange-red markings and flame.2006-12-31A crowded nighttime photo inside a busy temple lane lined with shops and offerings. In the foreground, a man in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl with a gold-beaded necklace and gold armbands looks upward, a white tilak on his forehead; the cues are long swept-back hair and ornate clothing, so he is a probable Swamiji candidate present in person. Beside him, a woman in an orange sari with a dark mala smiles. Behind them, a man in an orange t-shirt with a rudraksha-style mala and a man in white kurta with a wooden bead mala look up; a bald man in white and a man in a light blue shirt with a mala stand nearby, and devotees fill the background.2012-04-11February 03 20152015-02-03A photograph of an evening crowd outdoors near a temple entrance with string lights overhead. In the centre, a man in white ritual clothing with a shawl stands among several men in white dhotis and shawls, some holding a microphone and a video camera pointed toward them. Two people on the right wear white shirts and dark trousers, and a man in a white shirt stands at the edge. Several men hold up palms or stand attentively as the scene is filmed. The lit tent and colourful decorations suggest a ceremonial setting.2012-05-05April 11 20122012-04-11 +1 copiesJuly 22 20132013-07-22
