A seated man in a red-maroon robe with a red shawl and garland sits on a gold ornate throne with a flower-covered canopy in orange, white and pink. Around the platform, a dozen-plus people stand waist-deep in water, several in white dhotis and orange-saffron cloths, some playing drums and offering prayers with hands folded. Marigold garlands line the platform edge and a pink cloth covers its base. Water droplets and dark night sky are visible overhead. A small seated figure sits on a stone ledge. Name not identifiable from appearance; the caption-style copyright text appears at the lower right.2013-12-29Night photograph of a temple festival at a water tank. At left, a large floral-decorated wooden ratha/chariot structure is draped with garlands in yellow, orange, red and white. Beside it, a golden throne holds a seated figure in red and gold robes; a visible figure is seated in an ornate golden chair on a red-draped platform. On the right, a small boat-like float covered in marigold and orange garlands carries a deity murti, while two priests in orange-saffron dhotis stand in the water pushing it. Spectators fill the stands and the illuminated stadium behind, with coloured string lights along the structure. Reflections of the lights shimmer on the water.2016-12-14
