January 15 20152015-01-15January 15 20152015-01-15Night photograph of a floating orange-and-gold dais on dark water beside a large black stone linga, which is draped with garlands of marigold and white flowers. A person in an orange wrap sits on an ornate gold throne with red cushions, a small brass kalasha-like finial on a canopy above, under a multicoloured fringed umbrella. Garlands wind around the throne and dais edges, and white fluorescent tube lights stand on each side. Near the front, a man in orange wrap kneels at a small offering table with a flower garland, a man in a white shirt stands facing the throne, and two men in yellow-striped vests crouch at the platform edge. Water streams down the linga at upper left.2011-03-03Photo 11739609January 15 20152015-01-15A night-time photograph of an abhishekam at a large black stone shivalingam, with water streaming down its face over a silver-banded upper section. A figure in orange robes sits on a gold-trimmed throne with red cushions and a multicoloured fringed canopy, the throne decorated with marigold and white garlands. Metal scaffolding stairs stand at left, and a wide garland swag wraps the base of the lingam. The swami's face is partly turned away and only partly visible; the identity cannot be confirmed from appearance, so only the role is described. A partially visible person in orange clothing appears at the bottom edge.2011-03-03Night photo of a large black linga-shaped stone structure with water pouring down its surface, decorated with garlands of marigolds and multicolored flowers. A seated person in orange robes sits on a red-cushioned golden throne with a flower garland draped over its back, below a striped fringed canopy. A steel staircase stands at the left edge. A silver-banded yoni-like base and a tall silver band are visible above. The seated figure wears an orange cloth wrap and sits on a red cushion, hands resting in lap. Light falls from a white tube light at the left.2011-03-03A seated man on a gold-embossed throne, wearing an orange turban, orange garments and layered garlands of white jasmine and red, yellow and purple flowers. He sits with his right hand raised in greeting and a smile, a long white-and-red garland draped over his shoulder and chest, and a wooden rod in his left hand. Behind him the throne is decorated with multicoloured flower garlands, and brass oil lamps (deepa) with lit flames stand on both sides. At the lower edge, blurred hands and a head of a devotee are visible near the flowers. The person matches the swamiji cues of an orange turban, orange clothing and ceremonial garlands, and is identified as Swamiji (probable) receiving devotees in a pada puja setting.2011-12-11January 14 20152015-01-14Photo 11742868January 01 20132013-01-01 +2 copiesJuly 12 20142014-07-12
