Tall orange flames rise from the pit, with sparks drifting upward. Red petals are scattered on the yellow-brown bricks. A metal bowl and offering plates with flowers sit nearby. Blurred figures in white and orange garments and a seated person in white clothing with a bangled wrist appear in the background, out of focus.2011-11-29KAILASA HOUSTON, USA on 2/28/20222022-02-28A close view of a square fire pit built from yellow-green and red-orange bricks, with white powder dusting the brick tops, and a tall flame rising from its centre. Blurred orange-robed clothing appears at the upper right, and the background is out of focus with indistinct figures in white. No individual figure is clearly visible, so the fire pit ritual setting is the main subject.2011-12-20A photo of a homa fire ritual: a brick-lined fire pit holds a flaming wood fire, with a brass bowl of liquid offering set over the flames. A person's arm with white ash markings reaches in from the left, holding a wooden stick toward the fire. A cushioned wooden seat draped with a patterned cloth sits at upper right, and brass vessels rest on the floor at the lower left.2021-01-04November 29 20112011-11-29
