A photograph of a square stone homa fire pit at night, with bright orange flames rising from burning wood and offerings. Marigold garlands in yellow and orange line the pit's white stone rim. Behind the rim, a brass vessel and a small oil lamp sit near the edge, and a person in white clothing is partly visible at the top of the frame. The fire pit suggests a homa (fire ritual) with floral offerings. No identifiable person's face is shown, and the visible people are only partly in view.2013-12-21December 21 20132013-12-21December 21 20132013-12-21December 21 20132013-12-21July 19 20132013-07-19December 21 20132013-12-21Photo 11727070 +1 copiesJanuary 09 20152015-01-09October 12 20072007-10-12Close photograph of a tall fire rising from a brick-lined homa pit, with white and pink flower petals scattered on the bricks around it. A brass or copper vessel sits at left, and blurred figures in white and orange-red cloth tend the fire at the top of the frame, one person wearing a white garment with a beaded or garland-like necklace. The scene suggests a fire ritual such as homa. No faces are clearly visible and no person is identifiable.2011-11-10A homa fire burns in a square brick fire pit lined with white-washed brick edges. Flames rise from stacked dry wood sticks over a bed of sand, with smoke drifting upward. Orange marigold flowers are scattered on the white rim and among the wood, and dried grass blades are laid around the pit. A brass bowl holding a pale yellow liquid sits at left beside a wooden ladle, and a brass bell stands at upper left on a striped cloth. A white cloth backdrop hangs behind. No people are visible in the frame.2007-10-21July 09 20132013-07-09
