December 13 20112011-12-13Outdoor ritual scene with a man in a white shirt and dark trousers raising a clay pot wrapped with orange marigold garlands on a long pole, water splashing down. Around him many young men in white kurtas, white dhotis and yellow sashes stand beside blue plastic drums filled with water, some pouring water from buckets and cans. Behind them colourful striped and patterned umbrellas, a red and green festooned canopy and draped cloth tents shade a gathering. A deep blue signboard stands at right. Bright dry field and clear sky.2009-12-25September 04 20112011-09-04A photograph of an outdoor ashram gathering on dusty ground under a cloudy sky. A metal gantry holds a hanging clay pot on a rope, and a long rope runs diagonally from it to the right, pulled by a line of people in white and light clothing. A bare-headed figure in a dripping white wrap and a pink-edged cloth, appearing soaked, is mid-air or leaping beneath the pot, while women in saris and a man in orange and red robes stand nearby, some holding blue barrels and tossing water. Spectators in white, grey and orange stand in the background. No clearly recognisable a person candidate is distinguishable by appearance, so identity is uncertain.2010-09-02Outdoor photo of a colourful festival scene under a open-sided corrugated roof on a sandy ground, with palm trees behind. Several young men and boys in saffron-orange robes stand around blue plastic drums, one pouring water from a bucket, another holding a hose, while a figure in a white dhoti-style garment is sprayed with water and coloured powder. Ground and puddles are stained pink, red and blue. A large crowd of onlookers, many in orange, pink and yellow saris, watches from the background. Several people appear in the photo, and a copper pot hangs from a rope between two red poles.2014-08-17September 02 20102010-09-02August 25 20162016-08-25August 17 20142014-08-17December 19 20092009-12-19Outdoor photo on a muddy, puddled dirt ground under heavy grey clouds. In the foreground a woman with long dark curly hair, wearing a sleeveless bright orange top, faces away holding a rope attached to a hanging clay pot on a rusty metal frame. Behind her, a crowd of devotees in white clothes, a woman in red, and several children in pink and yellow stand watching. Blue plastic drums and buckets sit on the wet ground, and a coil of white rope lies at her feet. A microphone is in her hand.2010-09-02Outdoor ritual scene on dusty ground: a clay pot suspended on a rope between two red-painted poles is being struck and sprayed with water by men in white kurtas and dhotis, water splashing in mid-air. Several blue plastic drums stand in a row. Behind them, a canopy shelter with colourful striped umbrellas and a banner shelter hosts people in white and saffron-coloured garments, including a woman in orange. A crowd of spectators in white, saffron and everyday clothes watches, and a bus is parked at right. Red balloons and a blue signboard with Kannada/English text are visible. A bald man in a white t-shirt at right holds a bucket of water.2009-12-25Outdoor photograph in a dusty courtyard with palm trees and a low cinder-block wall behind. A tall bamboo frame holds a hanging clay pot strung with colourful balloons (orange, blue, red, green). Several men in white dhotis and white shirts, and some wearing orange shawls, stand around the pot. A woman in a white salwar-style outfit stands at left with long dark hair. Children and women in pink, red and orange saris are scattered in the background, consistent with a Holi celebration with a pot-breaking game. The men's faces are not identifiable from this image, so no candidate is named; the orange-shawled men are described by role only.2008-03-22
