A large outdoor gathering of devotees sits under a massive banyan tree with thick aerial roots and spreading branches. Most people wear white ritual clothing, and many have sandalwood or vibhuti marks on their foreheads, with some holding hands in prayer. On the right, a standing man with long swept-back hair wears a saffron-orange robe and a heavy ornate gold necklace, with his hands clasped in front of him. He stands before a seated crowd on a white cloth near a patterned mat. The scene suggests a satsang or darshan gathering in the open air.
