A pink-and-white flag is tied at the top, and a long rope runs down from it. A man in a red-and-white garment grips the rope at the base of the pole. On the right, a shirtless figure with long dark hair and an orange waist cloth stands in the foreground, facing the pole. Palm trees frame the background. This is a flag-hoisting (dvajarohanam) ceremony.2016-12-14December 21 20092009-12-21A tall copper flagstaff (dhvaja stambha) rises against an overcast sky beside palm trees, its base wrapped with a green leafy collar and yellow-orange marigold garlands.
