In the centre, a man with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange saffron silk garment with gold border, multiple gold necklaces with a garland, gold armlets and bangles, and presses his palms together in greeting. He matches the appearance-based cues of a person. To his right, a bald man in orange dhoti and gold-bordered shawl holds a gold ceremonial tray with a garland. On the left, a young man in white dhoti with gold border holds a lit oil lamp, and another in orange robes walks beside. Devotees in white and dark clothing follow. Rudraksha malas are visible on several people.2011-11-29May 16 20162016-05-16Night procession at a temple, with devotees in saffron and orange robes walking on a dirt path. A man in the centre wears a red-orange turban, a long marigold garland with blue tassels, and a gold beaded necklace, and holds a silver trident-topped staff. Behind him a man raises a silver staff under a fringed golden canopy. Two women in red-orange saris wear rudraksha malas and carry mobile phones, and a bald man on the right in orange clothes with rudraksha malas carries a black case. Behind them white-clad devotees, some with forehead vibhuti, walk among illuminated golden temple structures and deity figures with lit lights strung overhead.2015-11-22A dense crowd fills a narrow street lined with shops and orange flags. At the centre, a figure in an orange turban and orange robes wears a long marigold garland with white and red flowers and a heavy ornate gold necklace. Around them, saffron-robed sadhus with shaved heads and ceremonial gold chains press close, and a man in a dark jacket and others hold up mobile phones and a video camera. A tall silver staff with a decorative finial rises at left. The mood is a procession-style welcome amid a jostling throng of devotees.2013-02-12February 17 20162016-02-17 +1 copiesFebruary 11 20132013-02-11
