In the foreground a woman with short light brown hair and an orange scarf over a white outfit sits with clasped hands beside a woman in pale pink, both wearing glasses. Foreground women wear orange saris with yellow borders and rudraksha malas, holding small oil lamps (diyas) and offering flames. Behind them women in white saris with yellow and red borders, some in teal and grey clothing, also hold lit oil lamps. The scene shows a collective lamp-lighting ritual with participants seated in rows.

A large group of women sits closely packed on the floor during a devotional ritual, many holding small oil lamps with lit flames. In the foreground a young woman in a blue-green shawl over a red garment holds her palms pressed together in prayer, and beside her a woman in white with a red border sits with hands together. Another woman in a floral kurta sits upright, and a woman in a white sari with a gold border holds a lamp near the lower right. Others wear white, red, pink and orange clothing, and many have bindi or vibhuti marks on their foreheads. The setting appears to be an indoor hall with a blurred crowd behind them.
