A photograph of a group of women standing in a line on a paved courtyard before a doorway with steps, some holding offerings. A woman in a red saree with floral pattern holds a brass plate of flowers and food. Beside her a woman in a gold-brown saree stands with hands folded, and a woman in white saree with a green border stands in the middle. A woman in an orange saree with dark shawl stands near the front. On the right, a woman in white with glasses reaches up to a long pink flower garland being held by a person in white at the top of the steps. Behind, more women in colourful sarees watch, some with hands joined in namaste and one holding a small child. A white kolam-style rangoli design lies on the ground. Wooden steps and a green leaf with petals are in the foreground. No identifiable ceremonial leader is clearly visible.

A crowd of women, children and a few men stands in an open courtyard under a striped red, green and purple canopy. Many women wear cotton saris in blue, lavender, pink and orange, some with bangles and flowers, and several press palms together or hold small offerings. A central table draped in white holds a flower arrangement and a small lamp, with a red carpet leading toward a white-shirted man near a raised dais at the building entrance. Partly visible at upper right is a large printed banner showing a figure in saffron clothing and beaded necklaces, but this is a printed image rather than a person present. The scene appears to be a public gathering or darshan-style assembly outside a building.

Outdoor photograph of a village street procession at a Tamil Nadu temple area. A large crowd of women in colourful saris stands close together, many with arms folded: a woman in red blouse and mustard-yellow sari at left, a woman in brown sari with gold-trimmed blouse at centre, a woman in teal blouse and blue floral sari in the foreground, and a woman in green blouse with red sari at right. Behind them a printed banner shows a portrait of a man with white head covering and smiling expression, carried on a pole. Palm trees, a bright cloth canopy with pink and blue tassels, and a white-walled building with a small roof sculpture of a bull are visible. Several men in white shirts stand at the edge.

A street procession on a paved road decorated with large white kolam rangoli patterns. A gold-coloured ornate vehicle, possibly a ratha or decorated chariot, carries a large framed portrait of a bearded man in a white turban, shown on its front panel. Men in white dhotis and shirts walk around it, and women in saris stand under a tin-roofed shelter on the right, some with flowers in their hair. Palm trees, a thatched haystack and a carved balcony frame the scene. The portrait is a depiction, not a person physically present in the vehicle.

A photograph of a courtyard outside a white two-storey building with a tiled roof and a balcony, framed by green banana leaves and trees. A line of women in colourful saris stands with hands pressed together in namaskar. In the centre, a woman in a magenta-and-green sari holds a brass plate of offerings, while a man in white dhoti and shirt stands beside her. Another woman in grey-green sari stands in front of them. A man in white clothing stands at right, and a man in white dhoti walks near the doorway. A kolam with a lotus-like pattern is drawn on the ground, and a banner with a small portrait hangs on the right beside the entrance.

A long line of women and girls in colourful saris and salwar stand along a paved roadside lined with trees and blue-and-white bunting. Most hold silver kalashas or pots decorated with flowers, and some hold garlands. A large printed portrait on a stand shows a man in an orange turban and orange clothing, labelled as a portrait captioned with Tamil text, and a dark signboard with Tamil lettering stands beside it. A few men in white dhotis and shirts stand at the left edge, and more people are seated on a vehicle in the background. Palm fronds lie on the ground.
