January 08 20172017-01-08Several men in white dhotis with gold borders sit cross-legged on a polished floor during a puja. In the foreground, a man with folded hands and rudraksha malas sits with eyes closed. Near the centre, a man with white tilak and rudraksha mala holds an object while chanting; brass plates, small cups, flowers and a lit oil lamp rest on a green cloth and orange mats. Behind them, more white-clad devotees and a few onlookers in white and red sit in a yellow-walled hall. No figure here is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance, so the role is described only as priests and devotees.2012-05-14 +1 copiesAugust 24 20142014-08-24December 18 20162016-12-18Several men in white dhotis with gold-bordered sashes sit cross-legged on a colourful striped floor covering during a ritual gathering. Beside him a bearded man with dreadlocks and a white dhoti with gold border holds a small brass bell. Other bare-chested participants with ash markings hold brass lamps and offerings. Brass oil lamps and small brass dishes with flames sit on the floor in front. Visible people number roughly six to eight.2017-01-06May 18 20122012-05-18Devotees sit on a floor in a hall during a ritual. In the foreground, a man in a white dhoti with a gold-bordered shawl and a long rudraksha mala holds a brass bell in his right hand and a brass oil lamp in his left, with white vibhuti marks on his forehead and arms. Behind him, a man in a saffron-orange shawl and rudraksha mala sits with a small brass lamp or incense vessel near his hands. Further left, a woman in orange sits beside him, and other lamp-holding devotees in white and orange appear in the background. A gold and red throne-like chair sits behind them, with warm lamplight on the scene. The ritual appears to be an aarti with oil lamps.2014-05-25December 15 20172017-12-15September 11 20162016-09-11A photograph of a seated puja ceremony in a hall.
