Many have their palms pressed together in namaste or hold them folded in prayer. A tall metal water tank, palm and banana trees and a tall pole stand behind them, and white metal railings run along the steps at the right. The atmosphere is that of a satsang or public talk with devotees listening attentively. Rows of unlit oil lamps line the red stepped banks on the left, and potted plants sit on the upper steps. Many devotees, mostly women in white and in bright saris of pink, green, yellow and orange, sit closely packed on the steps and along the railing, some holding long bamboo poles or sticks. A man in white stands among them with arm extended, and banana leaves and green decorative leaves are tied along the railings. The scene suggests a night ritual gathering with a mass of devotees facing the water.2010-02-12September 03 20092009-09-03September 03 20092009-09-03
