A temple aarti scene under an open roofed pavilion. A man with long swept-back dark hair, a red tilak on his forehead, a copper rudraksha mala and a flowing yellow saffron-toned shawl performs an aarti with a flame in a silver lamp in one hand and a handheld bell in the other. Beside him a younger priest in white dhoti with gold border and a gold-bordered shawl holds a silver tray of yellow flowers. Behind them a drummer in white beats a drum near a red-and-white staircase, and a figure in dark clothing stands further back. Garlands of red, yellow and purple flowers hang on the right, and a small white and gold deity murti sits in the lower foreground. A blue sign reads a warning not to stand under the cave.2010-12-23December 23 20102010-12-23December 23 20102010-12-23December 23 20102010-12-23December 21 20102010-12-21November 24 20112011-11-24Night outdoor ritual photograph. A shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and white shawl with red borders stands at right holding a silver bell in one hand and a lit camphor flame on a small silver lamp in the other, with a gold chain and necklace visible. Seated at left on a red and gold throne-like seat is a figure in a turquoise-blue garment with beaded necklaces. Other white-clad priests sit in front, one with folded hands. Flowers, a palm-leaf offering and a stretch of green leaf garland decorate the scene, with hanging orange and patterned cloth banners overhead.2010-10-15Evening ritual aarti at an ornate terracotta pillar decorated with yellow and pink flower garlands, with palm fronds behind. A woman in a yellow-gold draped garment with gold border, a gold garland around her neck, and a dark-haired upswept style holds a lit oil lamp in one hand and a brass bell in the other, smiling. Beside her, a man in orange-saffron robes with a shaved head holds a golden tray. Scattered flower petals lie on the stone platform.2010-12-20A photo of a temple ritual at a shrine decorated with marigold and tulsi-style garlands in yellow, red, purple and green. A person with long dark hair wearing a lime-green silk sari and silver bangles holds a flaming lamp over a Shiva linga draped in garlands. Behind the linga, a deity murti with a trident and gold ornaments stands beside a seated goddess figure in green and red. To the left, two priests in saffron and orange robes stand near a brass plate, one bald and bare-chested with rudraksha beads. This appears to be an aarti offered during a puja.2011-12-16June 13 20132013-06-13July 07 20092009-07-07A photograph of a temple ritual at an outdoor pavilion with a terracotta-coloured wall and a tin roof.
